  1. Should have called it on How Not to Make a Movie About Tech (theringer.com) · · Score: 1

    The circle jerk?

  2. Maybe if their prices were more in line with REALITY some people would consider it, but when you figure 80% of the channels, NO ONE WATCHES, and the other 20% have some lame shows, and you can get a lot of them online, why bother?

  3. Can you imagine the amount of copper theft, if thieves knew that a lot of those old copper trunk lines have for the most part been abandoned? Yeah, some old alarm systems and a few older landline phones, but most POTS phones are long gone, leaving most of the copper just hanging there. I know one of the trunk lines in my town is abandoned, because at&t doesn't even bother pumping the liquid nitrogen into the line to dry out the moisture like they use to. They kept a tank on that line for over 15 years but last year they took it off, a few years after they buried fiber in the same footprint under the ground.

  4. Not "really" that much is it? on Interns at Facebook, Google Out-Earn the Average American (axios.com) · · Score: 1

Considering the housing prices in those areas, cost of living is pretty high. Unless they double, quadruple up, is that really a "lot" of money? I live out here in the midwest, where 96K would get you a huge 3,000 sq ft house in a pretty good neighborhood, couple cars, and money left over.

  5. Til their "people" censor & take down a video they deem not appropriate. They will holler & complain of (insert your favorite anti-something phrase) and it will be bad PR for Fakebook. Best thing would be to SHUT DOWN live video, and put a self censored minimum 30 minute delay. To the person posting the video, they are "live" but it buffers through the Fakebook monitors, and goes through once they give it the good housekeeping seal of approval. A lot of live TV & Radio shows have several seconds delay, why not this?

  6. Regardless of device...when you have a rabid fan base, most will give a positive spin on a device, rather than knock it. They do that to justify the stupid high prices for "flagship" devices these days.

  7. Can't do WITHOUT one penny less, than last year.

  8. MS trying to do what Apple did on You Can't Change the Default Browser or Switch To Google Search In Windows 10 S (betanews.com) · · Score: 1

Back in the late 80's, early 90's, Apple pretty much gave away computers to public schools. Getting kids use to the Apple ecosystem. The difference is, where Apple has computers, ipads, ipods, phones, watches...MS has...a computer operating system...that's it. No phones, not much of a pad, no real smart watches.

  9. Internet is not a "right" on Senate Republicans Introduce Anti-Net Neutrality Legislation (thehill.com) · · Score: 0

Private companies took the risk to build up the web, internet lines etc. Government has no business telling them how to run it. If you don't like your service/provider, change it. End of discussion!

  10. If the USA would get rid of the 16th amendment, implement a "fair or flat" tax https://fairtax.org/index a LOT of that money would find itself coming BACK into the USA, along with a ton of money from overseas corporations, since we'd be a tax haven for a lot of people & businesses. But, that would mean taking away the power congress & the senate have...the power to tax & keep people down.

For living so long! On a side note, that's part of the problem with the American "social security" accounts. The so called retirement is age 65, which SHOULD be extended to the average lifespan age of 75. Social security benefits were intended to last a few years at most after retirement. The average lifespan when it started was 65, so people didn't live but a few years past that. Heck, both of my parents are in moderately good health in their mid 80's. Granted, they saved for retirement long before they retired, but, many do not, and social security will NOT cover people for 10-20 or more years, especially when you consider the government stole the money from peoples social security accounts decades ago.

  16. Non "standard" memory won't make me switch from my SSD back to a mechanical one. I'm not into speed like I was in the late 80's through late 90's. With the SSD, photoshop boots in about 10 seconds, fast enough for me.

Personally, I don't want to live that long. I see the world (if they don't blow themselves up), being dominated by a super muslim majority simply because the rest of the worlds birth rate is not enough to sustain their populations. ALL ethnic groups except for the super breeding muslims, are in a negative rate. With the so called refugees being spread all over the non muslim world, they will eventually be the majority populations globally.
