I am unpatched ( at the moment ), but ultimately protected.
Why? My system has many different partitions, most of which have the no-exec flag set on mount. So, unless you are able to log in as someone other than yourself, AND that other account has some area to run executables, my system is safe. Not that I'm not going to patch it anyway.
We heard for years that Debian is hard to install and the old installer wasn't very easy to maintain or advance, so we we decided to throw the installer away and start from scratch. The new installer is much more modular, which makes it easier to maintain and extend.
heh, so if I'm reading this right, they know the old installer is hard to use, but they really don't care. The new one is easier to extend and maintain, and that's all that's important.:)
Well, while it may not mean much in a grand scheme of things, I can tell you that I have plans of setting up 3 offices with a VoIP system, due mainly to the cost of the competitors.
I will be using asterisk on linux. While not as feature rich as some of the other companies' offerings, it does have the benefit of being cheaper.
By an order of magnatude.
So, my prediction is this: If voice companies try to treat this as another cash cow, OSS alternatives ( like asterisk ) will boom, in both features and use.
Ok, so how do you get accurate trial results if you don't have a control group?
Not only is your premise idiotic, it also highlights a very short sighted point of view. If we can't determine the results of a drug, if any, against base results, not only will the release of the drug be delayed by years, if not decades, it may never get released at all. All those people waiting for a cure would be screwed, not just those in the control group.
The only problem I see here is an IQ problem of the original poster.
I am not an avid gamer, by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I was playing xcom2 right up and to the point I bought WoW.
It is truly an excellent game. The graphics are very consistent ( instead of blah here, WOW here, blah here ) and look great. On top of that, my old(ish) system can usually push 30-40 fps where ever I am. More than smooth enough for me.
Beyond the graphics ( which aren't all that important beyond the immersion factor ), the audio is excellent. Very well done score. But what really grabs you and holds you tight is the gameplay. Very addictive. Blizzard must have spent months working on the questing system, which is unbelievably detailed.
You make a good point. Trashing the awards are akin to taking away the jar of paint from "special fred" on paint day.
Although, quite frankly, a room of retarded people painting is infinitely more productive than the two hour commercial that this was ( I watched a few minutes here and there so I could safely trash it later ).
Am I the only one around here that figured "You can't do worse than the original, might as well try?"
The first one, while having an interesting message, lacked in virtually any other catagory by which to judge a movie. Acting stank, story was medocre, and the characters were 2 dimentional at best.
The second one, at least, had believable characters, and some interesting sci-fi.
Good god. I can't believe anybody would recommend this bunch. Lucent-connected or not, I wouldn't let these people near my residential phones, let alone my office phones.
Take Cisco classes, then look at asterisk to see if it'll do what you need it to.
..when the movie was first posted on slashdot: They are going to take what makes doom doom, and fuck it up.
So, to anybody actually associated with this movie, you can rest assured that I will not be going to see it. And further, I will tell everyone I know not to see it. And yes, I will lie if I have to to keep them from seeing it.
Oh? When was the last time you actually looked at your junk mail? I toss mine as soon as it comes out of the mail box ( unless it has a prepaid envelope to send back a response. Then I stuff the envelopes with the other junk mail I got and send it off ).

that is so attractive to companies?
Boss: "Hey! Wow, everyone sure did love feature x and y."
Engineer, proudly thumbing suspenders: "Yes sir, we really hit the nail on the head!"
Boss, now turning to glare at the engineer: "Pack your bags johnson. If we don't tolerate your kind here"

Actually, with protocols like SIP, as long as the server isn't firewalled, you should be in good shape.
So if this phone is sitting behind a firewall, it won't matter, because vonage's servers aren't.
Copy right violations and the like are a social problem, and are going to be solved with a social solution.
We can throw all the technology and litigation we want at the problem, but it won't be solved until we come up with a social solution.
So...doesn't that mean it'll be mainstream in 2008?
Assuming the prediction is right.
Hell. I predict I will be a stud by 2008, because I predict I will be having sex CONSTANTLY.

It's too obscure for me. :)
What's it relating to?
What is ironic is the OP is suggesting that people unrelated to 9/11 are being punished for it by god. Whoops, don't mean to tweak you folks, "God".
Now that, my friends, is truly a work of art. Troll or unintentional, it's still a post worthy of reading.

Hmmm,
No, no, no, no and no.
I must be a terrorist. Or a new father who hates credit cards.
We're a sneaky bunch.
These cans are cool, but for coffee I expect it'll flop.
Their first customer should have been campbells. You can imagine what kind of marketting opportunities you would be dealing with there.
You're new here, aren't you?

Well, under firefox 1.0, I didn't get a crash.

Chances are good that it will.
Steve Jobs is God.
No no, he just likes to think he is.

Because I am an asshole.
I'm sure that when movies were invented, somebody vocally lamented that storytelling would die. It hasn't.
Do you even WATCH movies now-a-days?
Ok, any one else more than a little unnerved by the points made in this point?
I know it was supposed to be funny, and I'm really trying to laugh. But it's coming at as more a nervous chuckle.
