The foundation of this particular one was unstable from the beginning, and looks to have crashed Mozilla. Maybe it was only a Canadian thing, but I remember way back when that you had to pay for incoming text. I spent half an hour on hold with Telus once to tell them that it was crap that they sent me a text spam that I had to pay $0.10 for. The helpful chick on the other end of the phone agreed with me. Then I remember something along the lines of it being illegal to charge for something that the customer has no choice to decide if they wanted to accept or reject, and they were no longer allowed to charge for incoming text messages.

However we are still over the barrel with system access fees, absurd charges for call display, $400 cancellation fees, Contracts that get reset for any changes made to your plan. I'm looking forwards to the upcoming bandwidth auction! I have heard that Shaw wants to enter the cell phone market. So far my experiences with Shaw have been un-evil.

The ONLY reason the authorities found them was because Onstar told them exactly where to find their car.

There is a cute little German meat shop a few blocks away where I picked up 2 AA Alberta strip loins about 2.5cm thick (I had to survive for 2 nights with no woman around ;-). I covered both sides of each steak with garlic pepper and allowed them to reach room temperature on my counter before I grilled them to a beautiful juicy rare with perfect grill marks on both sides. Then I like to hold the steak on the side with the fat strip down to sear to a nice crispy brown. That's my desert. Served with an ice cold home-brew stout, it was the best meal I had in a long time.

If you can grow a strip-loin with perfect texture, perfect amount of sinew and perfect flavor to reproduce the perfect steak? I'll give it a go!

If I am sitting down to a meal that has no meat in it, I will generally enjoy it until someone says something like "Pretty good, and it doesn't even have any meat in it". I then have to suppress the urge to go to McD's.

As far as removing the unwanted RFID chip, if the RFID transducer is fabricated on top of a PIC microcontroller, and the microcontroller has no added external markings, everything that has a microcontroller could have a hidden RFID chip. This means your key fob for your car, your USB memory stick, your cell phone, your digital camera your... anything with a microcontroller could contain a very non-removable RFID device. Reading the chip IS limited to a few inches, but airports could find this a useful way to track travellers when they put your cell phone through the x-ray.
