    My stupid video at Killakid.com got posted on a couple hundred blogs somehow. Next thing I know I pushed 60GB of traffic through my site in 2 days.

    You and everyone else with half a brain. However, all of our bitching won't change anything. It's the rich taking our money and making themselves and their friends richer and richer.

    It doesn't have to do anything. It just has to look like it does something, then they can smile and pretend it's a useful device.

    I understand the want to make money, the more the better...but their comes a time when you really can bilk your customers anymore than you already do, or they will go someplace else.

    Best Buy's rebate scams are among the worst in the industry. I've been told that something would be free after rebate, only to find out the rebate expired a week before I purchased the item.

    Now I think it is totally hypocritcal for Americans to get on a soap box about such a miniscule figure when the US puts content filters on millions of PCs in schools and libraries that prevent birth control and alternative political information from reaching students.

    In the US, you can vote and petition the government to stop that. Do that in China and you "dissappear" you may eventually reappear, but you're not all in one piece.

    Everyone looks at China with rose colored glasses because that's where the money is at. Who cares about all their crimes when we could make a dime?

    This was the reason many of my clients opted not to go with Linux. One of the project managers told me, "it doesn't matter how long the system stays up, what matters is when it goes down, I can blame one entity."

    Doesn't matter that Redhat and everyone else offer support.

    Makes a USB controller card for a very reasonable price. They even make add on boards to easily control motors and such. You should check them out. I talked to the owner of the company and he was very helpful in answering questions about the board, and helping me plan the design of my computer controlled camera mount.

    I have not experienced cheating yet, However...I have experienced total idiots...AHH!!! Why does everyone turn into an obscenity screaming team killing fool when the play through Xbox Live? I go on to have some fun and I spend half the time reporting pricks to M$.

    It wasn't that bad on Rainbow Six, but it is terrible on Star Wars Battlefront.

    I remember in the mid nineties Apple would send me videos about various subjects. It was basically a guy talking about something like OpenDoc for a half hour, describing it in more detail than the press releases, showing sample applications, etc. I think these were phased out with the ever growing popularity of the web.

    If the PDA market is finally dying...maybe Apple will bring back the Newton...after all, they did take it off the market just as the market was becoming ready for the PDA.

    Sigh...I wish Apple would release the newton in the form factor of a palm...I'd buy it no matter what the cost.

    I'll attempt to HiJack this thread with my own question. I'm looking to build a PC controlled camera mount. Basically it would be able to rotate a camera mount a certain number of degrees over a certain time frame. Then, this motion could be played back over and over again, for compositing effects. I haven't found any decent and cheap ways to finely control servos with a PC...preferably a mac. Anybody got any suggestions?

    If you were, maybe this hardware will help convince you to stop - and maybe then you'll start choosing software with licenses that allow you to do what you want with it.

    Piracy has a large and good place in the market. Take away the piracy and you take away all the "free demos"

    Why not continue the push for less paper money. Paper is nice, but it is expensive due to the short length of usage. Usually, the coined money is easily worth its value so producing a fake penny/quarter is not very worth while.

    Bad idea #1. I wouldn't want to carry around a pocket full of change. $100 dollars in bills is much easier on the back than $100 worth of silver dollars.

    Stop using money altogether. Credit cards!

    They track me enough with the credit cards I use. Sometimes you just have to be able to hand someone on the street a $20 bill.
