Someone needs to go round to the bank...
to determine a few things...
A. It's a bank
B. The person you've been talking to actually works there.
C. Take some fingerprints
D. Photocopy the documents that prove they are who they say they are.
E. Interview some employees?
F. ETC...
Now apply this process to anyone who requires identification. INCLUDING INDIVIDUAL CREDIT REQUESTS !!
I wish it were that simple.
But I don't think that it is.
Paramount owns Enterprise.
That's why it's on UPN.
(UPN Atlanta... Can barely see the picture... On Cable no less.)
It's not it their best interests to sell it to anyone.
(Especially SciFi... It would have a fighting chance there).
No...
They'll put it in moth balls.
Wait for SciFi Tv to dry up a bit...
(Or Tv in general)
Then they'll bring out a new series.
I like to think that it's the UPN network that's killing Star Trek rateings.
But I have to say...
There's a reason why my SciFi loving friends don't like Enterprise.
There's a reason why Enterprise is tied for 150th place in the rateings.
I don't know what that reason is.
I just hope it's not because Star Trek sucks...
'Cause then... I've been wearing the pointy ears for nothing;)
I phoned up all my "female" friends... Told them they needed to watch Trek... Help the ratings go up !! It's not like I'm asking them to wear the pointy ears;) (Not that it would kill them too;)
How about a web site where folks read EULA's for you... And summarize them... So before you click on OK to that 7 pages of printed text (packaged up in a 3x2 inch box... You can read a summary... and then read the expanded explanation for anything that tickles that "funny" bone;)

What about nixing cable all together...
In order to download someone elses cable feed. Maybe allready commercial removed?... The Dude
It doesn't seem like these efforts die quitely... the folks over at http://www.saveangle.org are still going strong... it would seem that they've hit some one year anaversary. Even though it should mark a year of failed dreams... it's something of a badge of honor to these folks;)
I was just haveing this very conversation w/ an associate. I guess their answer was always... all the people on all of those planets are descended from humans... so "obviously" they're all going to speak english. (whatever). Is the same explanation supposed to hold for Stargate Atlantis? It's kind of thin. I wish they'd try and introduce odd colloquialisms... some sort of stumbling block to communication. Allthough... there are some things you just have to let go of... in order to allow yourself to enjoy a good scifi story;)
I am disappointed w/ what's happened to Enterprise. Both the story lines and the cancellation.
However, There's plenty of good SciFi TV going on until the franchise gets it's act together.
Might I suggest SciFi Friday... SG1... Atlantis... Battlestar Galactica... Andromeda... (He he... that's kind of gone down the toilet too... but I still watch hopeing it will get better.)
We may not like that people have a right to sell a product for what ever they deem fit. It's their right. And it's our right not to use the product... find another product... or build our own product (it's really not that hard).
Individuals have a right to seek what ever compensation they would like.
I know of too many companies pulling in 40M on a software project... unwilling to share 10K with a company providing core software!!
I think the water would be less muddy if software companies didn't say things like... If our software is installed on a "fill in the blank". They should rather say... We want a cut of your bottom line... show us your books.
Generally speaking,

Can't be.
