    It might make sense to give any compensation to the founder or current project lead so that they can disburse it as they see fit. I would think if this gets taken to court the developers of PearPC will have to be defined as well as what constitutes PearPC.

    Really though, I have no idea and can't wait to see what comes out of all of this.

    Yeah but what if it's open source that requires you to release your changes back to the community? This is good for the community but also telegraphs information about your business processes to competitors which is not good for you.

    True, but if you step back a ways there is more water than you could ever drink in a form you can manage. We just need to find a way to stand back from the huge amount of data and get it all in perspective.

    The definitions of:
    capital

    and

    capitol

    Are slightly confusing -- they overlap. Unless someone uses capitol to mean something like

    "capital - 2.b:Wealth in the form of money or property, used or accumulated in a business by a person, partnership, or corporation."

    Then I'm not sure they should be faulted. By the way, I really hate how convenient firefox makes it to search dictionary.com.

    (not to be a Nazi but...shouldn't Inprofesional be Unprofessional or am I mixing up my morphemes?)

    Bull shit. Look at the bottom of the server selection screen. Those tabs let you choose your region. You can create a character on any of them.

    I suspect they just work for the highest bidder.

    That or they're working for a high paying bidder on a huge career/reputation/prestige building case so that they can easily get higher paying clients for likely simpler cases.

    I wonder about the physical layout and construction of the school as well. SUNY at Albany is spread out over 3 seperate campuses, the furthest two being 5 miles apart. Also the main campus was built in the 60's. It is a huge concrete structure(thick walls with lots of steel or iron) and I bet it's hell getting a wireless signal everywhere.

    We do have a tunnel system but with 11k+ students not everyone can use them.

    I noticed this the other day.

    If you look at the bottom of the search results it tells you that X number of results were removed due to DMCA complaints. Smells like censorship to me.

    If you go read the complaint cited it gives you the urls of the offending sites. So it's not very effective.

    We're not looking for flawless. It just seems that this system is completely broken.

    It's really not better than nothing at all. The illusion of safety can be more dangerous than being wary of threat.

    Well when I was 15(in 1996) I was able to get a debit card that could be used for 'adult' verification. Doesn't seem like a very good system to me.

    I just consider that "scheme" to be me getting paid for the uncountable hours of advertising I endure for entertainment; /., pre-Tivo TV, movie trailers, etc.

    At least now I can remove the commercials(and boring stuff/bad songs) from my radio listening!
