    Maybe we should have a bit more respect this time.
    Why? What makes Reiser above everything everyone else is subject to.

    It's going to happen every time someone dies, is killed or whatnot. It will happen when you die, when RMS dies, when Linus dies and when any celebrity dies. It might be hard to take for those who knew the person, but the vast majority of the world didn't and shouldn't be expected to act as if they had.

    2000 has been end of lifed. It is not supported by MS and eventually others are also going to be dropping support for it.

    So shipping a browser with the OS is anticompetitive and not shipping that browser with the os is anticompetitive?

    MS could drop IE 32 and no one could do anything about it. They are not required to ship a product just so a plugin by another company can continue to exist. Not shipping IE 32 does not stop Adobe from making 64bit flash for IE 64

    It was in (though I don't know if it was usable) several developer seeds. Also it looks like ZFS related tools are included with Leopard.

    what's with "PC Network Administrators"?
    I'm not really sure either, but I'm guessing they mean people who administer workgroup setups as opposed to making a small windows domain.

    This is like it's illegal to fire someone for being black, ie. complete crap. You can be fired for being any race because there's rarely a time that an excuse can't be found to get rid of you.

    Same with this, your old company can say pretty much whatever they want, no one is going to call them on it. Shouldn't and can't are very different things that are not related.

    What in the hell are you talking about? The Ubuntu that will ship not have Wine installed by default. The article does not say it will not have Wine available. You will still be able to launch Aptitude or whatever Ubuntu actually uses and install Wine from the Ubuntu repositories.

    You can have a firewall that does not use NAT. Both sides are publicly addressable but there is still a security device between you and the outside world.

    Microsoft is not one person. They can do a whole lot of unrelated things, and if they get the right people they could be the best at them all. The only thing stopping a company from doing a whole lot of things at once is money, and Microsoft has no shortage of that.

    No ones forcing Google employees from disclosing salaries. However, presumably every Google employee agreed not to by signing that agreement, so doing so would probably be basis for dismissal as a breach of contract.
