Exaclty... considering all three are already made and all they have to do it wrap up the production editing for III (and start the DVD junk). I guess some people don't know they were all filmed at the same time and the actors have already moved on to other projects a year ago?
Gee... or I could have just looked at the main text of the article with the link right there in it. *smacks head*
I use to couldn't even spell teknishun... now I are one!
Geez, Smidge... you really are ignorant. How old are you?! I doubt you would think it's funny if you were one of the thousands of proprietors that are going to lose $100-1000's per night they aren't selling the nector of the gods. I'm not even a drinker and I understand what this really means. Do you really think it made headlines because it's "funny"?!
How bout you just go back to doing your Algebra I and leave the economics to the big people. mmkay?!;)
The crisis is not the lack of alcohol but the lack of "product" for the distributor (bars, etc.)! It doesn't matter if it was widgets...the point is businesses may have to close and lose money on account of a screw up at the supplier.
I bet you wouldn't take it so lightly if it was all the gasoline in your area instead of alcohol.:p
Imagine an x86-based cluster at less than the price of the Big Mac and faster. Intel used over 2000 CPU's at 2.4GHz. Now imagine the number of 2.4GHz AMD Opterons in a cluster. We'll see...;)
Am I the only one that doesn't give a crap about any of this?!? I've seen some weird stuff, but man, what a waste of \. resources.
Roland is a dieing company on its last breathe. And who gives a crap about PCM now anyways... leave that for the cell phone companies and their cute poly ring tones.
I surprised this topic even got as many valid replies as it did!;)
The Internet includes just about every book, quote or fact that has ever been printed...and then some. Now that the Internet has matured, reference books and libraries are just a subset of the collective nature of the Internet. Shoot, I can't even remember the last time I saw the inside of a library since '94. Books and physical references are now simply for leisure or ease of reading.
SUMMERY: The Internet has done something that has never been available--good or bad, anyone can now be a publisher.
Man, I can actually kind of understand newstand air brushing... but voices?! (Andy Rooney voice) Gimme a break!
I mean how are we suppose to appreciate the human voice when now all we're hearing is a computer?! And when you do get an amaizing voice like Charlotte Church or Celine Dion it will no longer stand out among all the synthetic comercialized cokie-cutter singers.
If you can't sing... move over and make room for someone who can!!
he he... yeah, it should be manditory for all US citizens. That would take care of both.
However, I find it ironic you posted as an "AC".;) Just an observation.
Gee, I wonder if they could make a gas form and pump it through our company's vent system?!
It might actually bring our collective IQ up to average!
Dang it!;)
Last I checked, totally legal RETAIL sites for downloading music have been springing up all over the place.
Also more downloading of indie work (ie MP3.com) has probably affected the sales of the big boys. I know a lot of the music I like is harder to find retail than on MP3.com. Further, a lot of people with CD burners are now also making copies for themselves so they don't scratch up the original and have to repurchase--something that didn't happen in 1999 since most people didn't have burners, especially fast ones.
All these are just small chunks but they add up.
Much like I stated with the laptop/desktop report... statisticians can report whatever you want people to see.
Someone needs to do a report on the revenue making it to the artist themselves (from recordings) excluding all concert revenue and memorabelia items and I bet you'll still find an increase.
Of course this doesn't work for eveything... but why not do both?
Some things I've done the Q&D way to get the job done and then document everything later (taking quickie notes at the time helps drastically) because they need a solution NOW then I doc when the smoke clears.
Now I realize sometimes it required two implementations because the Q&D solution may be totally different then the long-term correct one. Do the long term correct one later (with all the doc if needed). Then you look like you da' man and yet all the big heads are happy later. You can even chalk up the second itteration as a/some enhancment!;)
But seriously... I wonder what the statistics are of the amount of PC's bought in retail compared to on-line and how many specifically how many laptops vs. desktops are bought retail vs. on-line. Stastics show whatever the collector wants them to show.
Here's some interesting points to think about...
- How many of those laptops were purchased by people already owning desktops from previous years
- People tend to want to purchase a laptop from a retail location because they can "feel" the product, whereas a desktop is pretty much just specs and can be purchased from the on-line store of any major brand.
- Same is true for LCD panels where you want to check out the clerity and picture of a panel whereas CRT's tend to be more specs and commonplace for most purchasers.
- Why would someone be buying JUST a display from a retail store? They are upgrading. Why upgrade? You want bigger, better or both. The rest of users are receiving their new monitors with their desktops they just purchased at the above on-line store.
SUMMER: screw retail statistics or any selling portal for that matter. You want accurrate statistics?...more accurately study the volume of PC's manufactured since demand generally drives supply for the following quarter and/or fiscal year.;)
So basically they're saying the meaning of life could be alcohol? sssshhh... don't let the word get out! :D
HA HA! :D
nice.
I just want to know when shuttledamagecam.com will be open?! ;D
Ah, good to know... That's the cool thing about the Net, nomatter where you are you can find someone from where you want to be . ;)

Yup, AMD is definitely nipping at Motorola's heals in the MIPs-per-GHz arena. ;)
...just wait. ;)
Imagine an x86-based cluster at less than the price of the Big Mac and faster. Intel used over 2000 CPU's at 2.4GHz. Now imagine the number of 2.4GHz AMD Opterons in a cluster. We'll see...Man... you guys are rough! Guess you can't take tongue-in-cheek comments.
But that's okay. I still love EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!! :*
wait...was that gay? that sounded gay. ;)
Who's the one posting anonymously?! And I've never even seen BSD... I'm a diehard Windows guy.

BUWAHAHAHA!!! Now THAT is funny!
BUWAHAHAHA!! This has been the most valuable comment about this article to date!
It's good to see that on a whole site full of "garage theorists" someone has some common sense. ;)
That's the next step in fast bus speeds over copper. ;) Look it up on Google.
