Maybe it's because they depict the Wehrmacht, who were simply the German army, not Nazi troops like the S.S. Fact is, the Wehrmacht spent most of its time out doing what armies do, fighting. The lion share of the Nazi atrocities were commited by the S.S. Also, another reason not to have swastikas all over the German textures is that the infantry didn't have swastikas plastered all over them. Sure a small one here or there, but the Iron Cross, for example was a far more common symbol.
Oh, and binary gods forgive me for neglecting to mention Arcanum. While Final Fantasy VI had amazing compositions, they were held back by the medium, being limited to MIDI. Arcanum, on the other hand, had excellent composition and execution.
Hmmm... Seems ok at first, then gets worse and worse as you get further into it... Sounds familiar; maybe Microsoft has been using this all along and everyone's getting pirated disks...
As a maple syrup swilling squirrel worshiping New Hampshire resident, I have to say this annoys just as much as the "This car climbed Mt. Washington" bumper stickers. To hell with cars and segways, my legs climbed Mount Washington over terrain that would turn any land vehicle into a pile of smoldering rubble. They should have never put that bloody road up it...
How does one get started as a blacksmith, it's something I'm rather interested in. At the moment my assumption is that the way to go about it is to find a blacksmith and ask to be his apprentice. Is that about right?
Yet another case where half of me says "Hmmm, that's fascinating..." whilst the other half screams "You sick fucks! What in the name of God are you doing?!" It's not easy being a hippie/cyberpunk/artsy/nerdy/outdoorsey/straight edge/gamer
To quote one of the greatist men to ever walk the earth, "Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth." - Gandhi. It's quite possible for 80% of the population to be dead wrong and do stupid things. Just because 80% of a cult thinks it's a good idea to kill themselves doesn't mean it is.
If the technology keeps advancing at its current rate, it's only a matter of time before game companies will be forced to concentrate on plot and gameplay because they won't be able to wow people with graphics anymore. I can't wait.
It seems there's something of a vicious cycle going on, I (and pretty much every one of my gamer friends I've asked) would gladly switch to macs if there were more games and software in general that was supported, as they're superior for so many applications (especially multimedia). However, I don't think software companies will start giving macs the treatment they deserve until they're widely used outside schools and the graphic arts industry.
I'm a DoD man myself; the thing to remember is that DoD is an infantry combat game while BF 1942 is more focused on their unrealistic vehicles. Remember, if you can parachute out of a tank, you're driving it wrong.
Bunker Busters and MOAB's are completely different weapons. MOAB's explode in the air and create an immense shockwave that does the damage. Bunker busters are heavy bombs on a delay fuse, thus the bomb penetrates several meters before exploding, so instead of exploding on the surface of a bunker, they plough into it, then explode.
No one reads it? Bah. Hell, I've got games.slashdot.org as my homepage.

"On an artistic level, it's not in the film music league."? I think it's safe to say that Richard Kessler has never played Final Fantasy VI

Half-Life 2 already cleaning up on awards? I feel bad for the games being released around the same time... If anyone's foolish to do so, anyway.
Well it's about bloody time!
God Willing.

IT'S NADDA TOOMAH!
Exactly, many people fail to realize just how loyal old-school Nintendo fans are.

I prefer allies myself, personally I only play axis to use the MG-42, otherwise I'm kickin' arse with the garand or the M1 carbine.

If you get her a vacuum don't forget to pick up a first-aid kit for yourself.
