Uh, this isn't a job for people on a journey of self-discovery, I've found in my 20+ years of programming. For several years as a contractor my #1 task often ended up chasing down problems caused by horrible, horrible database design, and decoding mind-bendingly awful joins to work around the design flaws. And other coding problems that were obviously work of some one who was on some kind of journey of finding "insight from within ones self." There's no substitute for a few solid courses in theory and design.

Beck was a morning radio dj for years, I think his biggest non-political gig was at WPGC in Wash. DC where he was a morning drive "Zoo Keeper". He spun records and yucked it up with callers. Anyone who knows anything about radio knows that djs are mostly f*ed in the head and have lots of problems. Beck is not unique to this, although he does appear to have turned his life around, although I don't get why he turned from Catholicism to Mormonism. That's like going from Communism to Radical Islam. But seriously, lets not take Beck too seriously. He was a loser dj who pulled a Limbaugh and found success in being a political pundit. He's not a big deal. Some think he is, but he's not. Screw him. Better yet, ignore him.

You cut out animal testing, you cut the throats of a French industry, one of the few France has left. I think if anything the US would be taking their queue from the French. Got a notebook for Xmas about 4 years ago, and it was a pretty nice one, and a great gift, but then the netbooks came out and being huge fan of small, light, and not needing a built-in cd writer (more small & light), and not having picked out the notebook myself, I decided to get another one, this one I picked myself, and I'm very happy with it. And I take it with me most of the time so I can work wherever. My wife also had this huge, old Dell piece of crap, so she got a netbook, which got sat on, so she got another one, which was stolen when our house got broken into (again, I had mine with me, so it wasn't lost). The insurance money brought her the one she has now. So after 5 or so notebook-style computers, yes; I got pretty tired of the damn stickers. Sometimes people buy a bunch of laptops.
