So it's juggling with 5 more plastic bins one handed while the other hand tries to hold pants up because your belt is in one of them.
I'd like to apologize to the people behind me but it's in our both interest that I put belt and shoes on before I start moving again.
I don't care about having to spread out the contents of my luggage or having to strip down, but having to do so in a queue is a terrible idea! NOT EVERYONE CAN TIE THEIR SHOELACES WHILE STANDING ON ONE LEG. Espescially not while pressured to move from the guy behind you. A simple bench to help you put on your shoes again would work wonders. Then a little space to pack or unpack your stuff or little trolleys to move your stack of bins away from the x-ray quickly....
From the comments, I'd say that es, there really are people who are that brain-dead. They forget that they couldn't get their name because they signed up later, so used a letter or a number to differentiate it, and now just blithely give your email addy because they forget to include the extra symbol.
As credit cards cost additional fees, bank cards connected to your checking account (usually even with cheaper short time credit that credit cards) are the go to plastic money in countries that are not stuck with cheques anymore....
Presumably because they're not doing their jobs and paying attention to what is going out over the air.
I guess the song was an accurate description of what the guys in the station were doing at that time.....
Ever heard dead air on the radio?
The stations I know have an automated "emergency" loop for that, starting a special playlist directly to the transmitter if the input is silent for more than 30 seconds. The playlist has songs usually NOT on rotation so even engineers off duty will be alerted (if they listen to the station) and suddenly can hear "Help" (Bangles version)
It is most likely NOT a study that can't distinguish between causation and correlation but rather a study that checks for correlation to find out if it is worth to fund the next study checking for causation. It's usually the news outlets mixing that up. A study could even be titled "Correlation between polar lights and strawberry candy production" would make it to the news as "Scientists found out Polar lights produce strawberry candy!"
Scientists usually don't mix these two up, but finding one is the first step to find the other. Usually from correlation to causation, but not limited to that. e.g. a lab discovery may find some prior unknown chemical reaction between some food and enzyme/hormone/drug/whatever they may have found something that DOES disable/amplify something, but may still need to look for a visible correlation to find out if that effect is strong enough (or offset by something else) to be relevant.
What an absurd idea - make the worst and most destructive qualities of humans the most rewarded in the system [greed!], thus creating evolutionary pressure for all of us to become more and more sociopathic [i.e. successful] and then start pushing against the inevitable outcome.
On the other hand, it is pretty clever to find a way to use that destructive quality to keep the same destructive quality at bay. It's the buyers greed to get things cheep vs the sellers greed to max the selling price that doesn't keep the system in an exact balance, but slows down the race to the button so much, during the last few hundred years, it almost seemed stable, and that's the actual remarkable thing - requires only a minimum of external regulations.
Capitalism is going down - but slowly. Like the flywheel break on an elevator with a torn rope..
Then, coming a little later -- perhaps 20 minutes into the future -- we'll have a Max Headroom situation...
In the future, an oligarchy of television networks rules the world. Even the government functions primarily as a puppet of the network executives, serving mainly to pass laws — such as banning "off" switches on televisions — that protect and consolidate the networks' power.
Is anyone else wondering why this series never has any re-runs or is not available on DVD? (except some questionable japanese or something version) Even the usual go-tos for less legal outlets like youtube only have some crappy capture of a TV recording on VHS.
They're submitting their schedule, not the ratings.
Something has to tell Nielsen what was actually on NBC at 6:30 so it can be matched up with what the box reported to Nielsen.
Then again: Why? Why separately? That information should be taken from any TV Guide as a forecast at least, and then only corrected for overruns or the occasional breaking news. That should be done independently by Nielsen, if having accurate numbers is in their own interest. Have a show reported that does not show up in the TV Guide? Should raise a flag for manual error checking.
Aaaaand that's the difference. The summary mentions they need to have SECURED a job or gap year program or college or whatever.
I would be in favour of having them to have a PLAN for the future, but requiring them to have signed contracts is ridiculous. And that plan, while it should have been seen and reviewed by a counselor, it should not be judged.
It#s a good thing to force them to think about the future, but a diploma still is earned with their previous achievements, not the future.
That's usually not the kind of person who wants to move to SV and work for Google anyway. It's probably more likely that you move there as single and then wife comes from within the Googlesphere as (not unlike a university campus) the job comes with enough stuff to spend also your spare time.
And that's the problem! How can these certifications be taken seriously if they require policies that will either lead to even worse passwords or (if you try to enforce better passwords AND regular changes) to Post-It notes under everyone's keyboard!
done right, both ITIL and ISO 9000 give you one thing: predictable, repeatable output. Maybe your desktop guys are not very good at reinstalling Windows, and maybe your X-Ray QA is not good at spotting bad weld jobs on titanium alloy. But if you're an ISO 9000 or ITIL shop, the procedure will always be the same so you can know in advance that 24% of desktops will need re-imaging and that 61% of QA will give false positive, so you can adjust your planning accordingly. The actual quality is not better or worse, but it's consistent.
By that definition of "quality", a McDonalds meal is of higher quality than a french chef's 4 course menu. The burger flipper has QA measures in place to make a burger taste like the same cardboard from Alaska to Zaire while the chef never can reproduce a meal exactly to the point if he has to take into account natural variations in availability and taste of fresh and/or local produced ingredients.
Or wine... what gives the 2002 Chateau de quelque chose it's special quality is that it can not be reproduced easily.
And still the last commenter didn't suggest that you should listen to anything RT is "reporting".
Propagands doesn't become true just because it supports your viewpoint. And even if some propaganda outlet reports something that is true, that doesn't make them a credible source for it.

Browser Auto fill does the rest....
Trains hate it when you anthropomorphize them.
If I was a train, I would hate that, too. At least after seeing "Starlight Express"
And they used to have Google Reader for News.
And they will have used to have a nice, clean distraction free start page.

Uhhmm... why?

Replace "okay" by "cheaper than at least SOME security" and you're there.
It has always been the credit card way to have no security but rather charge enough fees to cover fraud damage.

the intelligent women know better.
And now just go back through your everyday experience and assume that intelligent women are no more frequent than intelligent men...

Current state of the US, I could see this happen AND people calling it sensible.
Before they ditch hangouts for Duo, Allo, or what they just had in mind this week.
I'd be happy if people would so that at least with their CARRY-on luggage!
That still would meet the description of a "company town" as given on wikipedia (someone already linked to the article)
I doubt Google would do that at a Foxconn level, so there is probably no need for the nets.
Company Housing and company cafetaria are not problems per se, it's about how you do it. I have never heard of the Foxconn 15...

There is a reason why they call it campus.
