I don't know if its just me, but (600 pics * 7 second intervals) = (4200 / 60) = 70 minutes. Wouldn't the sun have changed position or changed its intensity in that ammount of time? I know within an hour where I live, the sun will have gone between clouds, start going down -- changing the intensity of where it is shining. I remember another article posted like this a while back, but it all seems kind of iffy to me....
I don't know if this was posted already, but I've heard something like this before. Microsoft has said this before about how Linux was no threat to them, but finally decided to admit that it was not too long ago. Also, firefox isn't the only browser. There's also opera (which I find many times faster than IE, even on slow computers), and other browsers. So Firefox, directly, might not have a huge impact on IE, but I'm sure every browser added up, create a slightly larger impact! That's just my opinion.
Well when CD/DVD's came out, I'm sure people were saying the same thing! As more and more demand for more storage comes out, cheaper media comes out, and more and more cheaper burners come out, there's going to be coasters and better for biodegradable reasons:)
Why would they ask if it would run FreeBSD? We all know NetBSD is the one bsd with their goal for portages. Not a biggie, just thought I'd point that out!
General Motors says software and electronics already are responsible for more than one-third of the cost of a typical automobile, and an IBM executive predicted this week that the figure will be closer to 90 percent in five years.
Yeah, once Microsoft gets involved
It's not THAT crazy when you think about it. Itunes charges ~10$ for an album (which is only a digital copy). Here, you're recieving the hard copy, allowing you to rip it to lossless, or any other format you please without the restriction to using it on a single player. On top of that you're recieving a booklet with various things like lyrics which also costs money, jewel case, cd, etc... Well, that's just my two cents:)
I do second that "no lag" on my g3 800mhz iBook. I even purchased the Logitech MX510 Performance mouse, and notice no lag, even while playing games! Yeah you're right about Dell. They purchase the products they can markup the most, and purchase for the cheapest! Hell, they're motherboards are from some "unknown" manufacturers!
WOW! I've been waiting for this day for quite some time now. I knew lasers would soon enough be used in mice due to the surfaces optical mice couldn't work on (ie, glass, mirror, etc). This is definetly just a little step into laser mice, but I'm sure eventually they'll start turning to green or even blue lasers for mice. The only problem I see here is when little Jonny picks up his mouse and looks into the laser... Could there be ways to stop this from happening?
Well it's nothing big really, but I noticed something with the screenshot of the Gmail account and teminal shell. Now, when you're logged into GMail, your space shows up as 1000MB, not 1 *true* gigabyte. However, in the terminal for the Google Filesystem, it shows up as 1024000 MB (1 *true* Gigabyte). Thought that I'd just point this out, as I said, nothing really that big but I noticed it...
Well I must admit, for the telephone/dial-up side, this article is correct. But on second note, telecom companies continue to offer DSL service, which in some ways is better than broadband-cable. For starters, your line isn't shared among your neighbours, *usually* always guaranteed maximum speeds. On top of this, security is somewhat enhanced because once again, the *cable* isn't shared. Another thing is, Telus (the largest telecom provider in Western Canada) is beginning to offer a new type of servce. They call it Telus TV. Right now it is in beta form, but once this gets realeased to all (it will be using the MPEG4 compression to my knowledge), it, on paper anyways, will blow cable out of the water. Who knows what the future will bring us!
Ugh, I remember when I used to work for staples and HP had (and still has) this program where you read and do tests earning HP info points. These points get you pretty decent mail in rebates. Many of the questions I found to be very stupid. In particular about the DVD+R(W) format. HP chose to go with the +R(W) standard beacause Pioneer had chosen the -R(W) format. So on this page they tell you to tell your customers the +R(W) format is the cheapest, most widely used (even though it wasn't), and best for the consumer. I really wanted to speak with one of these guys in person!
"Yours free in specially marked cases of Coke" - (Coke now maked as $50+ for a 12 pack)... Oh, and you must love the useage of 2 different systems of measuring in the article (Mililitres AND Fahrenheit)
Just a thought. Even when you delete files off solid state media, they are still recoverable with certain software. I know I tried it for fun a bunch of times, and each time I got the pictures I had deleted previously. Just because it says *DELETED*, doesn't mean it's not recoverable!
To my knowledge, cockroaches are easy to get close to and step on... maybe if they said they would make it as smart as a fly, then I would have some faith!
I once heard a guy run HCL(aq) through the filter then drank it... I don't know if he survived though :/

Who needs a "Spread Firefox" website when we have slashdot? :)

How long before we can get an open-source version of this?
Who knows? Bill was telling me it wont happen, and Linus told me next week!
