I'm have a feeling that music will stay at $.99 per single for the forseeable future; Jobs realizes (and anyone who can think through the greed will too) that increasing the prices to something like $1.99 for a hit single will only increase piracy.

Too bad "usable" means different things for different people, doesn't it? You may be comfortable editing/etc/modules.conf or whatever, but 99.999999...9% of the population is not. For them, Windows is still much more usable than Linux. Until Linux users/devs can get this through their heads (and get rid of the elitism thing), Linux will only be a server operating system. They obviously can't work to improve the software, but they voice their opinions of my work through reviews of it. These opinions aren't always good.
This is part of the paradox of Free Software zealotry. Free Software zealots want everyone to use Free Software exclusively, which denies someone's right to use the software that they choose (which may be proprietary). Sometimes this hunger to deny this freedom overflows the confines of software and into the realms of other Freedoms, like that of speech.
Maybe you, RMS and the rest of the zealots should find a way to bring the community together, not divide it. I imagine people (including me) would take you much more seriously then.
