I agree with this.
I used Gallery2 for my wedding. We had a fairly large wedding, with many people having their own digital cameras there... something like the situation the OP is describing.
Setting up the system was a snap. It took no time at all. Everyone could upload their files without a problem. They could then be resized on demand, divided into albums easily, etc. I would recommend it in an instant, and would use it again without a second thought.
Not like these idiots of course, but something like boxing is actually very difficult and demands a huge amount of skill. You don't tend to get injured badly because proper training and supervision are there.
And something like boxing is pretty much the ultimate player vs player match. You against another person... it doesn't get much tougher than that.
I would recommend anyone giving it a go. It has this whole "fighting" thing attached, but it's good fun and gets you damn fit as well.
It's nothing to do with money. Bush is an incompetent psycho in control of the world's largest military.
I can remember that when he got into power, I was asked one day what the way to save the most lives was. "Shoot Bush - through incompetence, mismanagement or deliberate actions of his, you'll be saving tens of thousands of lives" I said for a joke.
It's pretty sad now to see that I was right.
Everyone felt sorry for the US after 9/11, but the reaction wouldn't be the same if you re-elected him with your eyes open this time.
So what happens when someone manages to set off a charge at the top? I don't particularly fancy having thousands of kilometers of cable wrapping around the equator a couple of times at high speed.
Have a public forum which appeard to be the main forum. Then have the real main forum as an invites only/approval members area, where approved members can talk happily, having already proven themselves. Youll find the public one will become a bit of a cesspool, but it won't bother your members because they'll have a place to talk happily.
You'll find you get far less problems for your members... since it takes time to earn membership, people won't be inclined to keep trying to get into the private forum, and youll be able to weed the trouble users out.
You might be pressed for finding a good book for yourself, but here's an idea:
Build something that none of the other fathers can make. Find a cool little project that your kid will love that only an IT guy could make.
For example, a home entertainment box, custom LCD panel fake windows (thanks slashdot;)) etc. I can't really imagine a fireman being able to make them, and they'll illustrate what you do a hell of a lot better than a kid's bedtime story. Plus your kid will be able to talk about the thing that that their dad made that the other kid's couldnt.
This is interesting if you consider what should be their next step... a personal data manager and start page.
Think about it... if you could combine all your calendar, to-do list, diary, notes, customised start page etc with Gmail, a Google IM, the main Google search, Google news, and Google data handling performance you'd be laughing.
You could then essentially have a mobile desktop. I'd sure be using it... Google build things the way I like them.
Who cares if this is the case. Personally, it makes no difference to me where information comes from... just that it comes.
If this knocks out a country, city, or group of Trekkies, it makes no difference to me - all sources are the same on here. If theyre getting affected because theyre inconveniencing people, let them legislate then to fix it.

Here's a hint: the rules of the road are boring That's why I keep getting speeding fines. Who in their right mind would make a video game full of them? The games will give him quicker reflexes. That's about it.

We have a history of schizophrenia in the family, with the brightest and most obsessive member of each generation.
My uncle just got out of a psychiatric hospital. Before that, he was a lawyer. He is very bright (he still holds the all time highest score for the Japanese units he took at this state's main university, where he was known for 40-hour studying stints) and extremely focused (scarily so) virtually all the time. His problems got bad enough to put him away when he was 40 or so.
Im now 25. Everyone says Im exactly the same as him (have been since I was little) in my mannerisms, intelligence and focus. In the last few years Ive been noticing increasing mental problems, too, so Im starting to get worried.
Thanks for the thread... its very interesting to me.:)

I agree 100%. Im constantly blown away by how much he is in love with his own mind.
Actually, I have one of the 15 books he reminded us about the other day, and I remember it for how much it was universally despised.
A token effort to try to get on the good side of developers, after recent shames (SCO fiasco, antitrust issues, etc).
Then you have to wonder about motives. Two main ones immediately spring to mind....
1) They decided to spring something, and so decided to release the least part of the recently leaked win2k source code, since it was leaked anyway (not having downloaded it I dont know for sure, but it seems likely), or...
Theyre deflecting the attention from a recent happening. The Sun deal, perhaps?

Don't laugh. I've done it. It took hours for the key imprints to go away, too... :(
I'm sensing some security issues here... ;)
The relative size might be part of it, but that sure isn't all of it.
Australia's population density is far, far lower than any other country I can think of... yet we get the same toys as the US... even in the bush.
I see the parent post has already been modded down as "flamebait". That's a shame... sometimes the truth hurts.
Wow... nice work there... really, really impressive. :)

Look for the "translate this page" link to the right of search results.

Kind of disturbing that on here, a comment about babies hitting their heads that was probably meant to be serious gets rated as funny. ;)
I won't be suprised at all to be reading a week from now about a recent loser of a court case against Apple being suddenly compensated anyway.
They might have been bastards here, but normally they watch the publicity front, too.
