It is because of a stance like this that America will never win the war on drugs. The problem is not the producer, the problem is that people do pirate/use drugs. If the demand is there someone will find a way to meet that demand.
And with attendance going down, all that will happen is that ticket prices will go up to make up for lost profits. Or they will just try and crack down on piracy more.
The library in my town had a list of games/software with the number of disks you needed for that software. You would drop of the disks and come back a couple days later and the game was on the disk. I am pretty sure it was all shareware/freeware but as a kid it was awesome.
Sounds to me like this test was just as unrealistic as every single test I have seen on Myth Busters. All my friends swear by the show, but if you were to think slightly about the tests you can see that 90% of them are completely. All this of course is unless the test is to see how many people watching can be tricked into thinking it is a good test.
Actually for fast food restraunts the speed which you get to the next customer is one of the most important things. They teach you to say, and with the #3 is that a coke to drink (or whichever soda is the most popular in the area) and if there were to be a multiple choice for the side they would have just one (again the most popular in the area). It is faster to have the customer say yes then for the customer to say anything else.
The big problem with windows without internet explorer is that explorer.exe, the thing you use to access the internet is the same thing you use for browsing your files.
As part of school we wirewrapped a microcontroller that was running at 4 MHz. One guy I know overclocked his to 16 MHz and it still worked fine. A bit of a risky move on his part though, had something fried at the wrong time from it he could easily have failed the course.
There are booth babes at car shows too, does this mean that car shows are on the decline? What about beer commercials, honestly what you have said makes no sense.
I agree with you that storytelling has replaced realism as my driving factor to buy games, if the story of the game no longer interests me I get bored and stop playing it. This probably is not just a factor of the games all being the same but me getting older as well. I still in join just shooting things but if I want to do that I can just play some cs or Unreal Tournament.
The only I do not agree with in your post is the shameless plug for autumnrangers, that does seem to be the only reason for you post, are you developing it or publishing it?
My friends and I all own gaming rigs, Halo 2 is just an easy way for us to get the experience of LAN games without having to haul gaming rigs around. Couple that with the fact that it is easier to play while drunk and you can still play online with a bunch of people its a great game.
I don't usually wear a tin foil hat but this is just too ripe to ignore. All that is mentioned is that the person who started this is unknown. I would not put it beyond some American or American orginization who is looking for a way out of all of this outsourcing. If it was an American orginization they could also put the blame on some one else cou-Terrorists-gh and benefit that way as well. But for now I'll take the tinfoil hat off and wait to see who the major news corportations blame for stealing the money.
I haven't played the game, but maybe you could explain why it is so much better on the game cube rather than the PS2. Which is impossilbe to tell seeing as it isn't on the PS2.
I am not trying to start an argument I am just curious.
I'm sorry, I would have liked to believe you up until the point that you said that true AI was your idea. That could not possibly be your idea, it has been around since the early days of Science Fiction. I want to create true A.I. too, however I am actually doing something about it. If I do succeed in my goal of creating true A.I I will not make absurd claims about it being my idea.
Yes I agree, however do you not think that the Americans should already be doing that given all the complaints most of them bring about their laws already.
Somehow I do not see not being allowed to use tweels as the last straw. However funny that may be.
I don't understand, is it really that difficult to put a cd in a drive. Honestly comeon are your arms broken or something, or are you just that damned lazy.
Officially it was a presentation for our IT management class, their was a some information related to the class presented. The teacher new that most of it would be almost like a commercial, but it was interesting to hear about some of their coporate strategies. It is not like the Bioware guy had far to go either, the time of day the presentation happened it can't be more than a 15 - 20 minute drive from their office to our school. By the way I am not in a mangement program, for our Computer Engineering program we have to take a course on IT management in our final term.
If you felt that way, I wouldn't try this game, it says that it is almost exactly the same game. Bioware has a new game they are working on right now, you may have heard of it, called Jade Empire. They are calling it a Action RPG, bioware just came and gave a presentation at my school, we got to see all the new demos, it looks just incredible, you actually get to fight people instead of choosing moves to do.
For a school project I have built a completely autonomous attack vehicle, while not top of the line, it does work. I suggested that the nerf missile launcher could be replaced with a real weapon. I would link to my website about it but I know it can't handle a slashdotting.
I don't know if you have ever written software, but to produce something good takes a lot of effort. That said I willingly give the people who make the games I play money for their work. I hope in the future they find a way to make games even harder to pirate.
I have never had a problem with Steam, aside from friends, I was playing HL2 at 1:17 AM PST on the 16th and I think it is a good system.
I have replayed the original Half Life a few times since its release, the thing about the Half Life series is that instead of having a 5 hour game it takes much longer. I think one time a friend told me it took him 50 hours, he may have been lying, but the guy wasn't so good at fps's, and not to smart at puzzles either, I think he also broke every single box in the game. Thats beside the point even if your rush through the game you are looking at 15+ hours.

You mean there are people who don't read slashdot that use linux.
Looks like your bot is broken.

I don't know about 50ft, how about 500ft tall, that is something everyone can enjoy!

People like you give computer gamers a bad name.
