  3. Mistake? on Closer to Human Flight · · Score: 1

The article says no one has ever survived a fall without a parachute... but I've heard of people who've jumped and had their parachutes not deploy. In those cases, they've survived (though barely)

  4. What about the forgotten? on Game Industry Not Bigger Than Hollywood · · Score: 1, Insightful

Let us not forget the money raked in by the porn industry. Sure, it's not mainstream film and it's not done in Hollywood, but I'm sure that would add another couple billion with easy.

  5. No configuration provided..... on The World's Safest Operating System · · Score: 2, Insightful

I am wondering if this test was performed on a system that has yet to be tweaked. After all, if you leave FTP and Telnet ports wide open, of course it's gonna get compromised! I spent some time turning off all my ports, setting up the iptables, etc and now she's definately a lot safer. Exactly what are these 'holes' that are being exploited? Withouth that information, it's like a Windows v Linux experiment run by Msft on an unconfigured Samba connection.

I could see a potential 2D revival when people get tired of the 3D thing and want something different (or nostalgic). For the time being, it's the right direction... but those 2D animators will be in serious demand one day. They brought back bell-bottoms, ergo they can bring back anything.

A 61" screen is larger than my living room given that home builders think someone can actually survive in a 400sqft hole called 'upscale living condominiums'. Perhaps I can put it on the balcony and use it as a beacon

Thing is, I wonder if Handspring/Palm screwed this one up like they did with the Tungsten W and made the headphone mono.... Also, I'm a little curious on the voice quality of the phone. There's always something that seems to catch these phones and prevent them from being amazing.
