  4. Re:Also why are they doing it? on Wii Update 4.2 Tries (and Fails) To Block Homebrew · · Score: 0

The CD loader for backups is the fist thing most people install, to play downloaded, burned games. To think otherwise is perhaps a bit naive. Note the release of the USB loader to drive my point home, a mod that lets you play games from USB media directly... like a 500 gig hard drive. Those drives run for under 100.00$ and could possibly hold all of the Wii Games released for the next few years. I wont run the mods because of the endless updating needed to be done to keep up with the hardware (see Wii motion plus and Wii sport resort). Plus I like buying Wii stuff as gifts and supporting the people who make the games.

They have an "app store" built into live where ads for new content is constantly pumped to you one click to buy. PS: You can buy live points all over the place. The only difference is that the game is tied to your Live account. This account has to be maintained by Microsoft. They can revoke it. Your login is the only one with the rights to the maps/games/expandtions. So another user on your console cant use your Halo 3 maps. Grunt.

  12. Re:Refreshing Change on FBI Nabs Chicago Transit Authority Radio Hacker · · Score: 0

Just because people call a computer tower the CPU doesn't mean the tower is the CPU. People using words wrong doesn't make the wrong popular usage correct! A hacker is someone who figures out a HACK IE:a work around. A little kid I know hacked his gym class teacher... The teacher calls for the kids with a specific colour to leave first for gym class and, he changes the colour he calls each time. This kid wears a rainbow shirt to get around having to wait. He is a hacker. Hacker does NOT mean free spirit fairy bullshit or hobbyist status. It means someone who is capable of a creative workaround, (in the real world or software world or whatever). See also Jury-Rig. Don't think that means bribing the jury either.

I would never talk to or deal with a nitwit who claims right or tries to claim right to my data. He is awaiting the loss of his assets due to incomprehensible lack of new business! That would be like the creators of a 3d animation program claiming to own the rights to a movie because their software was used. Good luck !

Personally if I was a robot brain I would irradiate the planet without bombs, I would just dig into one of the thousands of deep well sites where all really nasty stuff is stored and let it free in the atmosphere; Bye bye humanity.

Court is the fire tests the metal of a law. The only problem for us is that the whole process costs a lot of cash and time, which most individuals have little of, and companies have a lot.

Most of these systems are not an active surveillance tool IE: No one is on the switch. F.Y.I. no security worker can deal with more then 10 or so monitors at a time. And don't even joke about computer aided threat recognition. As Scary as this sounds the false hits on a large metro system would render the system useless. The idea is to provide information to solve the crime not prevent it or stop it 'mid stream' so to speak.
