I'm still constantly fighting with management at my company who think outlook is the "Standard" and want it. This is one of the major reasons i do NOT want it. If I ever loose that battle, I will make sure the first time this happens that the decision maker gets full credit for the decision.

They just picked a number so darn high they would be long dead by the time it's proven wrong. The reality is sooner or later somebody will approach getting more than a boolean out of a single transistor. Of course 'that' probably won't be called a transistor, but you get the point.

My own Linksys router reverts to wireless network enabled, and without security. All it takes is the power to go out, and back on again, and Boom! you're wide open. Furthermore Linksys never offered a patch or recall or anything later, They accept this is OK.
I agree so long as its only when the first company is trying to enforce it. And only for as long as they choose to enforce it up to the term of the non-compete.
I have changed out most of the lights in my house to cfls, however, despite the 7 year claims, I found that about 1/2 of them fail within 2 years. I'm sure it's a quality issue, I would love to see some real studies.
Whoever wrote this article clearly doesn't realize they themselves breathe out as much CO2 as an entire microbrewery. For the sake of the environment, they can hold their breath while the rest of us enjoy our beer in peace.
1) The UI is getting better (FINALLY!) and should see a revolution in improvements now that it's Eclipse Based and extendable.
2) True, but it allows for ground up hands on learning that creates a unique class of self taught programmers. Yes there are many bad Notes Developers, but the good ones can often do the work of an entire team of M$ Developers.
