Half-Life is nice but it's more like the story from Another World, where an actual particle acceleration experiment went horribly wrong, intro can be watched here:

5. Darker than doom 3
The only game darker than doom 3.
6. Overly used scripted sequences.
Of course all fps games have scripted sequences but this just felt ridiculous.
7. Buggy?
Crashed after the long ride (WHERE YOU COULD NOT SAVE!) in the beginning, but not the second time.
Unless those "victims" who claim they actually "fell for it" was a part of the scam. What if they get their money back from the bank, then being part of the scam they also get a part of the scam-money. Sounds like a good deal to me.
ReactOS homepage used to say they were aiming for nt4.0 compatibility, but now it says:
"The ReactOS® project is dedicated to making Free Software available to everyone by providing a ground-up implementation of a Microsoft Windows® XP compatible operating system. ReactOS aims to achieve complete binary compatibility with both applications and device drivers meant for NT and XP operating systems, by using a similar architecture and providing a complete and equivalent public interface."
I'm sure they will adopt to any updates microsoft does and eventually catch up...even if it will take a few (or lots) of years.

Unfortunately it seems there are no version available for 1.0.6, but the 1.0.4 version might work anyway.

If you look at the "who is licensed?" page at
http://lightscribe.com/whoislicensed.aspx
You can see that many major companies, already has licensed the technology so I can already see this becoming some sort of standard.
At least when major software, hardware and media companies like Ahead (Nero)/Cyberlink/Intervideo (software), Memorex/TDK (media), Toshiba/Philips/Hitachi (hardware) support them.
No, I'm not working for any of them, just stating that when some of the major companies in the industry support something it usually becomes a standard sooner or later.
Don't fall for this game.
I used to play Project-Entropia but it is impossible to make any money off it. You'll end up loosing alot unless you invest a whole lot or have a really good strategy (so if you intend to have fun you will loose money).
I made a program to extract the separate files from Entropias's archive dataformat.BNT and what did it earn me, instant ban from the mmorpg. All I did was to look at the BNT in a hexeditor and figured it out, then wrote a tool. I was glad though, I didn't have to spend anymore money in this virtual casino.
Trust me, you'll be better off playing another mmporpg where you pay monthly. Or hell, go play the opensource mmorpg planeshift ( www.planeshift.it ), next version of planeshift will have fighting, mining etc and it will always be free (for mac/linux/windows).
Exactly, if one of these areas has valuable resources that can be used or exploited to further colonize Mars, no one is going to leave those places alone.
I myself was thinking of making a program pasting a premade footer to a wave in order to make a looped wave for half-life. I would probably remove any ascii string though.
I guess they could/should have opened and saved it with their own soundrecorder to eliminate the footer. Obviously the person making the sounds weren't fully aware of what sort of information that can be stored in a wave file. Shame on you!;p
I have just patented reply button and any form of replying to posts on the internet, so before you reply make sure you pay the appropriate amount of $$$ to me, only me.
Seriously, the patenting have to stop.
Back in the early days when I was on my good old Amiga, we were trying to copy stuff from one harddrive to another. Something went wrong and my harddrive died. Didn't have backups of everything back then and no internet, but my friend had most of the stuff so I didn't loose that much, what a nightmare though... Oh yeah, from that time on we used a parallel cable instead of connecting two harddrives.:(
Also the other time was when I did a bad flash with my A7V133 motherboard and rebooted. I should have flashed the old one back when I got error but unfortunately I didn't. But I ordered a preflashed replacement chip from my country so it didn't turn out that bad or expensive for that matter.
PDFCreator is the easy way of creating PDFs out of common software Like Word, StarCalc oder every other Windows Application that uses the Windows Printers.
I dunno, I run win2k too and I have no problems whatsoever with running games either? To be honest, I even have less problems than the XP users around me. XP is clearly just a bloated version of win2k that claims to have better compatibility with older software.
There are still so much crap they could have removed from win2k distribution to make it even better. Instead they decided to make it look like operating systems do in movies, and at the same time added so much integrated crap that users had to upgrade their computers. If they only would offer a cheap "Light windows" without the extra crap. But nooo....

Wait! If cold war was WWIII, then war on terror (Terra) would be WWIV, global war(ming) would be WWV and the next war would be...WWVI?

Use of two or more different checksums algorithms would make it substantially harder to create a file with a fake hash.

I'm guessing using two different hashing methods and putting both checksums up would make it harder to use exploits like this.

In other news, the opensource native windows compatible ReactOS 0.2.4 was released a few days ago:
