You could ask someone else to compile a patched kernel for you, or you could install Linux inside VMWare or something similar and then patch and compile the kernel inside that. All of these products can be evaluated for free. If you have a CD drive that Linux can access you could maybe even just boot a LiveCD like KNOPPIX and compile a new kernel using it.
You're one of very few performers who has a song about DXM. I'm wondering about your experiences with it. Have you used it? If so, did you like it? What about your observations on other people's recreational use of DXM?
AllofMP3.com is under investigation by russian authorities. There's also Media Club in Ukraine and it charges.015 per meg now.
Anyways, I don't see what's the point of using places like that. You're not actually paying the artist or record lablel. You might as well get your music from usenet and P2P.
Well, it doesn't use transparency so IE would display it without any problems.
BTW I find that PNG is the best format for screenshots. The compression is acceptable and the image isn't mangled. JPEG was meant for photos. The sharp boundaries and large areas of identical colour in screenshots make artifacts too obvious. GIFs are usually limited to 256 colours and that messes things up pretty badly.
How often has someone actually been harmed by this trap? Windows source is shared with various companies and universities yet I haven't heard of any problems arising from that.
I've been trying to find out what actually changes. It doesn't seem like any extra circuitry is enabled when "upgrading" a Radeon 9800 to a FireGL X2. Benchmarks show an impressive increase in performace of CAD-type applications but the 3DMark score actually decreases. It seems like maybe this is just a change from a driver optimised for gaming to a driver optimised for professional use.
I also found the FORSAGE driver which should supposedly allow one to "upgrade" to FireGL without any soldering or a new BIOS.
I don't understand why the UK government is acting as if something changed for them on 9-11. The IRA and related organizations had attacked many times before that. Those threats had been dealt with in various ways. The UK wasn't attacked on 9-11 and al-Qaeda isn't focused on the UK. What was really new?
Sure, people don't usually click the padlock but they might notice a warning saying that the certificate doesn't come from a recognized authority or that it doesn't match the name of the site.
The problem happens if a "trusted" authority issues certificates for sites like these. Then people go to to the site, think everything is okay, and securely give out information to the phishers. This is why automatically trusting these free certs is stupid and why you might as well just make your own certificate.
The SoundBlaster Pro was only 8 bit. That is pretty bad for music which has significant dynamic range. You can hear quantization noise during quiet parts because there are too few possible output levels available. It was also only able to do mono at 44.1 kHz. If you wanted stereo you'd have to settle for 22.05 kHz. Clearly this isn't good enough.
Later cards could do 44.1 kHz stereo, which is CD quality, but it wasn't enough because DVD video has 48 kHz audio with more channels. The extra channels can be quite useful in games.
Now there's DVD audio with 96 khz and even higher sampling rates and 24-bit resolution. Many cards can't do that.
So if you want to hear sound any card is good enough. You can even stick a DAC on a parallel port or use a PC speaker driver. However, if you want the best quality there have been a lot of advances.
Does the law totally prevent it? Isn't there some legal way to sell expired products accompanied by a statement that basically says "these are expired, no guarantee whatsoever, sold as is"?
I've recently examined various compression ratio comparisons on the web and it seems RAR is usually 2nd best and 7-Zip is best. I expected bzip2 to be much better than rar but in fact it was much worse.
7-Zip is released under the LGPL. Compression with the maximum compression settings is extremely slow and uses a lot of memory. RAR seems like a very good compromise.
I've read that all keys that worked with SP1 will work with SP2. Some pre-release versions blocked additional keys but they decided not to do that in the final release.
That's very interesting. It seems the technology is for real. However, due to the limited bandwidth it is mono at a few frames per second.
There is no reason why this wouldn't work. Video has been squashed into even narrower bandwidths, like for example streaming through a dialup connection.
My AdBlock filters already blocked this. The */ads/* filter caught it.
AdBlock seems like a better ad-blocking method than the hosts file. You can have wildcards that will catch many cases like */ads/* and even if you need to block sites you can catch them with a wildcard like http://*.intellitxt.com/*
Point #3 isn't valid. Linux can be set up so it boots directly into a GUI without the need to type anything, even login info.
I don't know about point #2. I find the Windows GUI presents a better mouse interface but I doubt that any of that is applicable in this case because this project will probably need a new custom user interface. Things that work well at a desk might not be convenient here.
If you look at the source of the relevant part of the Amazon web page you can find the URL of an XML file which gives you the URL for the trailer. However, it is an rtmp:// URL, and I don't know of any program that can download that.
RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol) is a proprietary protocol used for streaming media to a flash applet. There is also a totally unrelated RTMP (Routing Table Maintenance Protocol) in AppleTalk.

- Gaim
- Miranda
- EB-lite and Ayttm, which are two forks of EveryBuddy
- IM2
So why are you making your own? What features are you looking for?Anyways, I don't see what's the point of using places like that. You're not actually paying the artist or record lablel. You might as well get your music from usenet and P2P.

You can listen to Radio 1 online.
Yeah, he failed because he forgot to mention SCO
The top 20 worldwide PC makers probably produce most of the PCs out there so this affects a lot of people.

What if there is a short circuit within the battery instead?

I also don't understand why they used a 5V regulator when the power supply has a regulated 5V output.

All volcanic activity on Mars has ceased. Could there be any vents?

The Office 2003 Standard Edition EULA (Original PDF, View as HTML) doesn't seem to say that.
