I'll bet if he did anything about it they would just send him another copy of the game or let him download it, either way just because you have a license dosen't mean you can sue if you cant play it. Whenever my nintendo breaks do I sue nintendo for not letting me play my games? or what if I upgrade my computer and it isn't supported on my system? should I sue then?
I run a mac and all of the software I used on windows and owned licenses to dont run on mac should I sue them for not letting me use their software?
I hate america today, everyone is so quick to threaten with a lawsuit.
It's really not "free" we pay by looking at the ads and such, they make a profit by providing the serivce. Though many of us, including me and you, dont bother to click the ads. I dont think google will have to charge for their services as long as people want to advertise online, and I dont see that changing any time soon.
If you're really that angry with google you can check out http://icerocket.com, they use google as their backend but they got some extra nice features.
I'd have to agree completely, unless the government were trying to make people fat by allowing the purchase or iced cream products. Thus controlling them by making them go on fad diets and buying diet pills... oh it's all a conspiracy...
I too have worked in fast food and I still eat there regularly. I even worked for a smaller chain of local restaraunts and I love eating there, it was clean and everyone washed their hands. I dont think I could have worked in the place if the other employees were so disgusting (I dont understand how people work at places where employees spit in food)
On a related note (to the actual subject), I dont personally have an Ipod but since MS dosen't make a player itself (no not just liscense wmv) there shouldn't be a problem with Mac gear. In fact I'd encourage my employees to use software not made by MS (Linux, BSD, OS X) that way all the good ideas would eventually make it into the OS. (oh like you've never looked at another program to figure out how to do it yourself?)
I'm not really sure on this but I think it has something to do with that being where the most force is?
like kinetic energy... when it's spinning that's where the most power is.... though I could be completely wrong but I allways figured that was the reason.
I recently had a problem with my windows installation which I was not able to fix but I was able to install FreeBSD on it without a CD drive (I could have done so with linux as well but I picked FreeBSD) I expected horrible power managment and wireless issues
to my surprise it ran perfect without a hitch. I have a Dell Latitude C400 with a Orinoco 80211.b mini-PCI card, I was able to connect to my WAP on the first try (no odd configuration), put my computer to sleep (closing the lid or pressing the button) as well as any other feature I had available in windows... I'd have to say it was the best thing I'd done to this laptop, the only problem was I couldn't get my browser working properly with Flash(I have no idea what the problem was, but it was probably simple and my fault) and since I need to at least view flash for my job I had to install windows, if I ever get another laptop I'll surely put FreeBSD on this again and use it as my personal system
actually it's not, go to the site and change your default profile settings, set it to whatever you like. The more space you make available the more points you get.
if I could use this to replace my mouse it would be great, I wouldn't have to leave my keyboard at any time! I rarely use my mouse anyway, so not using it at all would be great!
I've allways wanted to control my computer with help with just my mind. If I can get something to do that then I'd be happy.
actually, when I was a telemarketer I tormented people quite often that did such things like this to me
people that just hung up on me I'd set to call back in an hour. I'd start off differently and get them on the phone, then I'd ask why the hung up on me earlier. Usually they hang up on me at this time and then I'd continue to repeat this process until they told me to not call back again, thus making my job much funner:)
I remember one time some lady was yelling at me, she didn't ask that I not call her back so I just had it call back later. I forgot I had set to call her back and I also forgot her name, so I started like I usually do and she said "hey aren't you the same guy that called me a few hours ago?" me: "uh.... no.... *click*"
I dont want my ISP to enforce anything, I'd like to take care of my systems myself. I hated that my old ISP would block my port 25 unless it was to their mail servers. I switched providers because I was tired of running a second mail serer on a different port.
I dont want my ISP scanning me, or monitoring what goes through my email (attachments or otherwise), I find it hard to believe that so many Admins here on slashdot were affected by these worms. I've not once been infected by a virus, the whole time I've been on the net I've never had a virus. My girlfriends step dad has had a computer for 4 years, he's never had a virus and he's not very computer saavy. If you watch your system you have nothing to worry about, who cares if everyone else is having problems. Computer shops and anti virus companies are just raking in the cash and that's good for the economy.
personally I like my CLI, text based is all I need... on occassion I like to play games or view images, right now I'm not really looking forward to 3D desktops when I'm still using my terminal windows all day...
I'm sure many developers feel the same way, they dont see a reason to work on fancy 3D graphical desktops. We like our command lines.... oh well, i'll just stick with my terminals;)
hey, I take pride in making something work the way I like. I'll open source it and if anyone else likes it they can use it, I know a few people will like the way I do things. I dont mind scratching my own itch, if others benefit from it that's great. If they don't then tough for them, fork it and make it work the way you like.
so that's what nerds think when they see a cute girl?
I normally just stare... if she smiles, I smile back. Usually at that point she turns away and checks if anything is hanging out or if somethings wrong with her clothes and then she peeks back to check if I'm still watching. I usually sit there for a while and go and talk to her after a bit....
I suppose I'm wierd though, not sure if they like me doin that but I sure like it.... especially if it leads to somethin else..
I come to slashdot too often, before I'd hear all kinds of complaints about dupes but I'd never notice it. Oh but now I notice every single one... I suppose I just come here too often. Thank you slashdot for filling up those precious minutes I could be working...
We are social if we choose to be, you dont need to be taught. Everyone claims they dont know how to act and such, I dont believe that. We know what to do to keep relationships, we are social by nature. We just like to be anti social for whatever reason.... I wish I knew why..
"There's still the problem of how everyone in the entire universe happens to speak perfect English all the time... but all SF shows have that problem, especially StarGate"
maybe you didn't realise that all the places they visit are already connected, the languages they speak are english or latin base (latin type/old stuff). It makes sense that mostly everyone should speak english, but there are those that dont speak english and there are indeed other languages spoken.
anyway, I agree language is a big issue they gota deal with and making everyone speak the same language works.
oh yea, also I hate enterprise because it's a horrible show. The acting is horrible, and it has too much drama (human drama, not space fight type drama)
I dont like cell phones because it's a hassle answering your phone. People like girlfriends, mothers, and sisters complain when you leave your phone off. They cant complain if you dont have a phone (though they complain you need to get one). I personally hate dealing with cell phones, if I want to contact someone I'll call them and meet them somewhere to talk.
As for WiFi everywhere, I'd love that. That means I could go online any time I like. The reason some people would rather not have access while away from the office or home is because you want to get away from everything. If you have access it's harder to get away (internet is kind of addictive and you want to take breaks some time).
If you want to give OpenBSD a try without installing it head over to http://metawire.org. They offer free OpenBSD shells, they've got a pretty big community and it's a great place to play and learn with OpenBSD.
apperently people are a bit tougher in the marvel universe, constantly people are being thrown around just to stand up slightly dazed... often with the assistance of a helpfull bystander

I say, let them have their cell phones. I drive like I'm drunk most of the time anyway. :-P
Like? hell I'm drunk all the time!

what about nike? a friend of mine just bought 300 dollar nike shoes... maybe I dont understand what you're trying to hint at
I'm not really sure on this but I think it has something to do with that being where the most force is?

that's what I go through everyday here in canada, oh how I miss the days of A being a letter
The next time I look up Zelda and Metroid oiled up sex with goth chicks on google. Your comment better show up.
I understood the joke but had no clue what he was saying :( guess I'm not worthy.
all your ideas are horrible!
