I wouldn't say that Google ignores their competition. Last I checked, when you search for an address in google.com, it allows you to view a map of the place in google maps, mapquest, or Yahoo Maps. That seems more like accepting that competition exists than merely ignoring it. This makes me think that they aren't going to be anticompetitive, for the most part.

It could be done in a current context, also. Perhaps something like paperboy, with the gideons, or something throwing bibles towards houses. To me, as a Christian, I think a game is a game, and I'll play Christian Games, only if they are good. Same goes for music (Personal favorite Christian band: Five Iron Frenzy).

As a side note, I believe that many Christians (and perhaps other religions, also) take things way too seriously. I wouldn't force people to believe what I believe, because I've had people try to do that to me. I realize that people have differing beliefs and values. A whole lot of problems that are caused by religion could be solved with some understanding. /rant

I haven't used a Mac in quite some time, so I was unaware that they had gone that far in supporting it. I don't call that well-supported, either. Before others jump on me, I am not excluding Linux as a major operating system, just that not all distros support it by default. Anyway, thanks for the info on the iBook. It's not something I would expect any layperson to be able to do without step-by-step instructions, but it's still available for those of us who might know how to work it. If IPv4 wasn't set up to use DHCP by default, most people wouldn't be able to set it up. The technology is there, it's just that it's not being used.

Actually, you can get the IPv6 stack directly from Microsoft, so it isn't 3rd party software. For Windows XP, it shows up in the list of available protocols to install for your network. It's not the default, but not any harder to install than IPX/SPX. With Windows 2000, they don't make it easy, you have to search for it on their site, but it's there.

Since you didn't give a reason to think that, I'll go with what I think is the most logical reasoning, though I think that is looking too far into a simple off-hand remark. The most logical reason I can think of to think that would be if you thought I was referring to next-door neighbors, and that Lucifer resides in a place that abides by standard address rules. One of those rules is that odd numbers and even numbers are on opposite sides of the street. So, technically, 667 would be across the street from the beast.

I can't speak for your culture, but in mine, the word neighbor refers to those living in the same neighborhood as you. This is a rather nonspecific term, but the term that we use to refer to people living next door is a next-door neighbor. One reason I think this is more widespread than my neighborhood, and immediate culture, is Mr. Rogers. I believe when he is asking you to be his neighbor, he is not asking you to move next to him, but to befriend him, or become close to him (in a non-sexual way).

On a side note, my current address has the number 665 as the house number, which is why I take a small interest in this subject. Interestingly enough, directly across the street is a nursing home. Dissapointingly, the driveway is not directly across from my house, but down the road a bit, so it doesn't have an address of 666.
