No one is boycotting the PS3...its just that those people (me included) cannot afford it. Well, on second thought, I guess there isn't TOO much of a difference.
You are exactly right. I want to hear the words from Iwata or Miyamoto, etc, instead of some guy who is the VP of marketing or something. I want to hear it from the people in charge who are running the show. That is the only way I will believe either way.
I would tend to agree with you about New Super Mario Bros. It was awesome. Played it all the way through several times. But, I have to say that Worms kinda sucks. The graphics could have been WAY better and there were not nearly enough weapons. None of this was a limitation of the DS's power since it was hardly better graphics-wise than the original version of Worms. I hope they make a second DS Worms that is more along the lines of Worms 2.
They are probably the same skills. I am a hunter in the game, and have a skill called True Shot Aura. I believe that skill does roughly the same thing and has the same icon. Its not like it was stolen anyways. Its the same company and the same universe and it came out about a year afterwards. Not a huge surprise and I don't see anything wrong with it.
Does anyone know how it happened that Dell and Apple are having problems with Sony's batteries and yet we have yet to hear anything about Vaio batteries being recalled? Is Sony hiding something? Or are they just taking their time? Or are they just that lucky?
I know for sure a DS version is in the works as I have a relative who works for EA. And think about it. The other Will Wright game from EA is whored out to every system and their mom. The Sims is out for Win/Mac/GBA/DS/GameCube/PS2/XBox/Cell Phone. It DOES make sense, regardless of the fact that Spore is more of a gamer's game than a casual player's game (though they will probably fit in too) like The Sims is. It makes sense that Spore is for everything.
I don't personally see anything wrong with this. You are just impatient, and I've been like that too. The company has made its money off of you. You are now in the deciding statistic, so no problems there from what I can see. I get things for free often, by the way, but never something I would have bought instead. Its like those things that you would love to have, but would never buy for yourself.
I didn't realize you were that oblivious to the answer to this question. The answer is, of course, YOU! If people enjoy a show at all, buy it! Show support, because the show is cancelled otherwise.
As for support, I highly disagree. Whenever I have a problem, instead of calling, I can just drive over to an Apple Store and get free tech support in person regardless of the computer's warranty (as long as no hardware is problematic, then it depends on the warranty of course). You can't say that about any other machine on the market. I think that makes it much better than the Ubuntu setup because with message boards, you just have people guessing at your issues since they have no access to your machine, whereas in the case of a Mac, you can have someone actually look at it (and I'll add that almost all the "geniuses" actually do know what they are talking about, which I find impressive).
Well, the parents won't have to regret not video taping their kid as a baby later on. They'll have possibly more footage of their baby than any other parents in the world...
The best way to do this and not give up your ethics is to "illegally" burn every fifth game. Thats because 360 games cost $65 new. So to make up for it, just rip every fifth game and while it will still be illegal, your saving money and not giving up your ethics.
This is why I look forward to the Wii. Its supposed to be low in development costs, and they want to keep game prices down.
Author is asking whether they will have a choice, when buying the parts, of which OS they use, or if Windows is bundled with the parts. It doesn't seem to make sense as the whole point of DIY is that you can always swap out parts later, so you buy one at a time, but I think thats what he means.
Not exactly. They don't just take Macs. They take any old computer. Theoretically, if you still wanted to use your old computer, you could give them the computer that was the old one before you got the new one. At some point, you'll want to get rid of the old one. It seems really wierd right now, but at some point, its likely that I will want to recycle this Macbook Pro in front of me. Precisely, it will likely be in six years, which is three years after I buy my next computer.
That is also not a comparison that means anything though. At this stage in the iTunes Music Store's life, it was only out for Mac. This means the adoption rate was very low. Comparing XBL to iTunes right after it released iTunes for Windows would be a better comparison although it still doesn't really mean anything.
Pretty much. Its evolved since, but the original C++ compiler wasn't really a compiler, but a converter that converted C++ to C and used preprocessing directives, etc...
I know that Cisco is a big company and all, huge even, but so is Nintendo. Wouldn't it be just as likely to see Nintendo buying out Cisco?

Most laptop users don't want things sticking out of their computers. I think it would be great if they made a reciever that went in ExpressCard/34 and PCMCIA slots. That way, people could always leave it in. And eventually have laptop manufacturers build it in to their hardware.
I don't know the specifics of hardware, but assuming what you said is true of the PPC, it really means absolutely nothing in terms of the x86, as many things are going to be different. If audio was done in the CPU, that would mean that the OS would have a subroutine of some sort that processed audio. It is possible that it still works like this, but maybe not. I'm sure many things have changed in the OS for the port.
Adium is easily my favorite chat program. It uses libgaim to function (for Mac) and has the best chat program UI I've seen. It is constantly updated and has plans for all sorts of new features. We are truly lucky to have the Adium X teams working on this project.
Could it be that Apple influenced this decision? Could it be that there is more to this? I really think that Apple will not be releasing machines with intel stickers on it. I think this is connected.
How does GNUstep deal with the fact that some of the code behind Cocoa is closed source? The interfaces are made with Interface Builder which creates a.nib file which has your interface. But you cannot actually see the source for it because I believe it comes as, I guess, precompiled you could say. How do they expect cross-compatibility with this in mind?

Just save the movie and send it into iDVD. It compresses for you.

Really? Linux came out for Windows? I didn't realize it was cross-platform!
Thus, since XBL will never come out for any of that, it shows that it is just a dumb comparison to begin with. /. editors? Where are you now?
