The 'mods', or tunes played (and still played to these days with cracking apps) while loading/starting a (cracked) game on the C64, produced some of the best electronic music I've ever heard.
To this day I still listen alot to these tunes, "Maktone" being one of my alltime favorite (electronic music) artist.
Thank for the explanation.
As you're bringing up the claw(animations) : You sure that other things might not be ripped off (not a Marvel/comic fan myself),but I would imagine Hulk (having seen the movie, and read some of the comics) also has some 'moves' which are fairly well recognisable (hard to explain) by his character.
Same would go for maybe Cyclops, etc.
I'm not saying that even how a character moves might be copyrighted (nor does the judge apparently;)) and clearly they have been inspired by Marvel, or superheroes in general.
As said, Marvel's just pissed off they didn't do this first:)
What I got from previous articles on this lawsuit, you can change the body-size of someone ; Going from small to 'Hulk'-proportions:
What can you shape ? (like, can you choose between a few templates, or can you manually enlarge/change the upper/middle/bottom part ?)
As for the textures ; What assets can be used by the player to create his hero ?
for instance, if someone is given the option of exactly the same wrist-blades Wolverine would have ; Wouldn't that be infringing on some ideas/rights ?
Alot of questions, but I've never come around to playing COH (read : I don't like to pay a monthly fee for a game) ; But to me it just seems that Marvel is awfully pissed at them for just beating them in creating a solid superhero MMORPG universe... Defenitely if you've seen what shit-games have been released with Marvel characters.
You sure on this ? Googling came up empty, but I can remember them spouting sometime that the DS would be able to connect to their next-gen console ; Then again, it would be foolish not too.
Anybody getting curious on what the next Gameboy might entail ?
" Modern games are too big to run off of a CD unless you LIKE disk swapping"
Allthough you're right for the real big (mostly) FPS-games ; I was surprised to see that Counter-strike : CZ can be played straight from the CD (without installing) ; Allthough it's using a moderately old game/engine ; Still cool to pop-in a CD on a 'puter, and instantly be able to play.
Furthermore, can we get past this stupid habbit of calling every apparant obsessive/compulsive behavior an "addiction?"
Addiction, by defenition, is: - Compulsive physiological and psychological need for a habit-forming substance.
- The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something.
So calling "apparent obsessive/compulsive behaviour" an addiction, is only because that -is- the defenition of it:
I do agree with him though ; that 'spending alot of time' does not equal addiction.
It's not as if these people are going to go through withdrawl symptoms if they are deprived of their gaming "fix" for a couple weeks.
That's only true if you are comparing withdrawal symptons from, let's say, heroine addiction, to the withdrawal symptons from missing out on a month of RPG-ing.
Hell, even I really long for playing a (FPS) game when I haven't done so for a week.
In my opinion, it's hard to distinguish a honest review from a bought review though : Defenitely if they are about blockbuster-games.
The other day I saw it in the bargain bin ; 25 good ol' euros : Nice :)
Note : I would have bought it immediately if it would have been launched at the 'normal' price (which was 50).
They made Catwoman black, so I don't see any problems ;)
Haha, such a good description of -any- MMORPG :)
Thanks, got it at a steady 40 kb/s ; after the site was thoroughly slashdotted.
You happen to be talking about those ipod-sig-whores ?
Ohwait...
Nice call :)
Blue Gene runs Doom III with a comfortable 70 frames per second ;)
Oops, might as well include a link to some of the stuff : Go to http://www.modarchive.com to download some of them tunes.

My door got hacked. :)

Yep, that and the chance of it trying to attach itself to your vertebrae once bringing it too close to your ear ;)
What's this about ? So they don't bend ? or ?

i tried left-mouse-click-dragging some of my colleagues, but right-clicking on my boss did not work :/

Are you working for a competitor, that you get so wound up over it ?
Ohwait...
I think it might also have to do with the D&D players letting the decision to attack depend on their D20 ;)
Reminds me of downloading a (warezed) version of WinRar... packed in a .rar file
