    HSBC (UK) still uses OS/2 on all its branch workstations, hooked up to an AIX mainframe i believe.

    And with all that, its still one of the independently owned and operated ISPs in the UK

    TigerDirect don't sell Apple hardware or Software, probably because they couldn't get a licence from Apple to do so. This is their way of recouping the lost earnings from Apple.

    It shouldn't be long before nVidia modifies its current Stereo Display drivers, that require glasses, to work with this tech.

    I've used the LCD shutter glasses before, and they are awesome, although they are quite bulky.

    There is nothing wrong with patenting algorithms, not a sausage.

    The problem often lays in how the companies subsequently licence their IP to others.

    If you were/are using a provided that allows spam to propigate from its network, then you will fall foul the the bad publicity they gain. And in this case you fall foul to the effects of being with them.

    If someone on your provider was trying to exploit MySQL, ssh, etc on my host I would have firewalled the entire subnet from connecting to my network (as I have in many cases).

    Your provider is at fault here, not MAPS. If you want to pay someone for hosting that openly supports spamming, be my guest, just don't expect to be welcomed.

    Writing something like IE from the ground up would be a major task indeed, but it would help in improving security and removing the OS integration, but can we really expect to see this?

    We can all dream can't we?
