    On the other hand I managed to escape the little ambush at Liberty Island on my first playthrough, only to find Gunther staying in his little circle and me not being able to board a helicopter to freedom. So I had to go back to the ambush and get taken down like a good little boy for the game to continue. That was annoying....

    Here is an example of an indie developer who has been extremely active on the forums, and the game is all the better for it. Honestly, based on how much time SnowBrigade spends on the forum, it's a wonder he gets any coding done. :) And yet there are regular updates including many player suggested features, addressing player brought up balancing issues, etc. One of my own suggestions was recently implemented as well.

    when you read TFA, it actually just sounds like he was screwing around and the child porn was more like "this'll get the dude in trouble" rather than "I have a private collection because i'm a pedo".

    Either way, the dude was really stupid and deserves to get jail time for it.

    It wasn't just stupidity. This dude was trying to ruin his neighbor's life and sent him to prison for death threats and child porn. I figure he deserves at least as much jail time as the neighbor would have gotten had the frameup not been uncovered.

    I already had Braid and Osmos (cool game, though I gave up on some of the later levels), but I heard some very good things about Machinarium, which is why I picked up the bundle. Only paid $10 since it just had the one game I was interested in, and I don't feel bad about it.

    I remember playing Doom 1 on a 386 DX-40 with 4MB RAM, and it ran pretty smooth in low graphics mode.

    The folding city in Inception looked cool. No one was surprised that they could get it to look cool. For that you'll still need to look at things like Avatar et cetera.

    Actually the only special effect I was impressed by in Avatar was the way they did the 3D holograms in 3D.

    There was still some scaling even in Morrowind, but only in regards to which enemies would show up - the same type of daedra would have the same stats, but if you're higher level you'll get a tougher type of daedra in the same ruins.

    The goodness is in the explicable combination of graphics, sound, writing, controls, UI, and that viscerally felt response to the user input. And that other thing you know, but I am forgetting.

    I assume by "that other thing" you mean gameplay?

    Thats the issue i have. I got a 470 a few months ago and i can't find anything to give it a workout.

    Have you tried Crysis maxed out (including AA) at 1080p? You'll definitely have framerate drops below 30 at parts.

    If Comcast doesn't like what Level3 is paying them to accept L3's traffic, they should renegotiate. It shouldn't matter if the upsurge in traffic is due to Netflix or streaming porn.

    That's exactly what's happening, and Level3 is throwing a hissy fit about it.

    Every time a new, high-profile FPS comes out, I ask myself, "is this game better than Deus Ex?" And the answer is inevitably "no".

    That's because Deus Ex was a RPG with FPS mechanics. And frankly the "FPS" part was its weakest feature by far.

    Deus Ex is more comparable to Mass Effect than to Metro 2033.

    Hey, I think you're onto something here!

    1. What the TSA is doing only helps to humiliate Joe Public, and does nothing to hinder terrorists.
    2. This will lead to Joe Publics avoiding flying alltogether if there's any way to help it
    3. There will now be fewer Joe Publics on board to stop terrorists from taking over the plane

    Conclusion: Terrorists are in charge of the TSA.
