The sorting issue as defined in the Brazil nut experiment came up recently while I was on a field survey of some land in Nevada. It was a mapping project and we kept coming across areas known as "Desert pavement". This area of the desert experiences the same sorting activity when water or wind is added to the mix.
Though this seems a bit trivial, it has very serious implications for later rain events. This sorting makes the soil mostly impervious to water and contributes to some of the deadly flood events that can occur in these arid environments.
This said, be careful pouring water on that holiday display of mixed nuts.....
It could go that way. Microsoft has the budget to advertise on all major networks and in all major publications as much as they want. They have the potential to out advertise most companies. All they need to do is associate their product with Tivo and provide a better value or feature set. I still don't see Tivo as standard and established enough to claim the market title.
We used to blow on the contacts of those stubborn NES cartridges until blue in the face. I probably expended enough air to fill one of those blow-up bouncy castles.
Never thought to actually try cleaning it with something.
With the amount of current required to do this, 1/500th of an amp, why not start instituting it in the office space? A 20% increase in vocabulary performance could be quite beneficial in a number of occupations.
This is, of course, that they prove it's not the brain equivalent of slow roasting a turkey.
I've only ever used Ad-Aware, who at the time when I found them weren't very well known. It's always a little nerve-wracking installing a free program that is supposed to help you but of which you know little. This seems common in a lot of those Windows-only shareware repositories.
I'm a little surprised to see that the OpenBSD community is so actively pursuing this, whereas I hear it as an issue for large linux distributions but don't see much being done. I honestly thought the various BSD-type followers were dwindling. It's great to see them working in an area where all open-source type software could use some work.
You could taking a new attractive star and keep them that way for eternity. You could fill a database with movements and speech from the person, pay them a hefty royalty up front, and put them in whatever movie you want. They'll never get old, at least age wise.
This kind of service probably won't fly with the actor's guild. Another lawsuit for the pile.
I don't classify Mac users and iPod users as even close to the same. The iPod user subcategory to me seems a derivative of P2P networks and the popularity of digital music, not the iPod itself. That view is just a little bit too mac-centric for me.
People here in L.A. already drive badly enough with the current variety of cell phones...
......
Police officer:
So what caused you to rear-end that other car?
Rotary cellphone user:
I just took my eyes off the road for 15 to 20 seconds to dial a number and then
Beer is very bad for laptop keyboards.
Trust me, your computer isn't thirsty.
I for one welcome our keyboard playing overlords.....
... except for that Yanni guy.
... use 10 faster processors.
That way George Foreman isn't the only bloated thing in the picture.
...to replace the one she is using now when it is overrun with marriage proposals from /. users.
That seat next to the crying baby is looking better and better already
Teenagers with cell phones suck.
It must be that cloned version of IIS they've been working on.

catch up with the robust, transparent functionality
I think they need to work on the apparent functionality on the Konqueror application before taking a pat on the back.
now my dog won't sneeze when carrying our cat around by the head.
Now for the Jello wrestling.
.... of my water here in L.A., minus the filtering.
