A fifty-something bloke once cycled at me on the pavement. I asked him "does your mother not let you ride on the road yet?" as he passed. He turned round, cycled back and hit me, for "saying something about my mother"! It took me an age to work out that he simply did not understand what I was getting at.

This is not an uncommon comment. However, consider that most fridges have to work very hard to keep even lukewarm contents cool. The fridge that you linked to would burn out with a "warm" object inside of it because the thermostat would be running the refridgeration cycle continuously due to the heat given off by the xbox.

Yes, totally. Look at the figures - $200 a month for their 'addiction'? That's $2400 a year. A decent laptop, or a home theatre setup, or a nice new TV, or a new computer for your college-bound daughter ONCE A YEAR easily eats that up once you get all the fixings in there - especially if they're counting monthly cell phone bills, etc. This is hardly doing the Hastings Street Shuffle down to NCIX to get your weekly fix of PC3200.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Just the other day, I saw a BMW M3 drive buy, and thought the exact same thing. It's not fair that people will pay for luxury goods! By doing so, they deprive the lower classes of the same goods! High-income consumers have a responsibility to the lower income classes to only by cheap things!
Wait a second, I just remembered - if no one paid the price they were asking for this good, they would STOP MAKING IT. The price of marketing and production wouldn't suddenly drop to accomodate the fact that no one's willing to pay that much.
