At least we now know that the accusations against Valave, for putting out Warez spyware versions of their own game isn't true.
Phew, let's all take a deep breath. Now that we got that cleared...
For those of you people getting your accounts shut down and now crying about it... It was coming your way!
I think Valve did the right thing.
This is totally insane, isn't anyone going to stop MS from doing this?
TCP/IP, DNS etc are open standards created to be used by anyone and should be kept away from being crippled by legal patents.
I guess it's time for something more radical than an online petition...
I really wonder if the list of the worlds fastest supercomputers is fully updated. I wouldn't be surprized if in the future, it is revealed that NSA had the fastest computer all along.
I don't think it's too far fetched to say that the worlds fastest computers are used to crack encryptions.... so yeah, I guess it's time to upgrade those PGP keys!:)
how do they think they can create a hacker by educating a person in a university in 5 years?
you don't become a hacker by getting a degree, it's a lifestyle. they will never get a qualified IT army like that. the people which they educate might have knowledge of computer security, but they will have a hard time getting the edge needed to invent and create. always feeding of the scraps which real hackers leave behind.
they'll just be a bunch of crackers using the tools of a script kiddie.
"The old computers work as well as new ones because they work off of open-source servers."
What? How exactly does this work out? Could someone please clarify this. I just don't see the logic.
I use Gaim and I have recently upgraded to version 1.0.0
I've got to say that it is a great IM client, specially if you use more than one network.
But a warning, not all functions may work as you are used to in the "original" IM clients. One example is the filetransfer part. It has been worked on and is much improved now, but it doesn't work as good in gaim as in some other clients.
But, if I was to give an overall judgment, I'd definatley recommend it.
I live in Sweden and I can say for certain that not everyone has 100 Mbit connections.
The reason for the broadband expanse here, is the support from the government. At least I believe that to be the case.
Even in the rural areas of northern Sweden people have 10 Mbit fiber connections. The reason for this is that the government has supported the companies which invest in those areas.
Without any government support I doubt that Sweden would have come this far so soon.
I was one of the downloader's on Sunday which BBC reports of. But I don't agree with the fact that all the downloader's don't contribute to the game development. A lot of the leechers do.
Like me, thousands of people who downloaded the game will go and buy it once it is released.
I would like to argue for the fact that most of the downloader's actually buy games and hence feed the gaming industry.
Realize this:
The man has 6.66 per second! 6.66 can only mean one thing. The number of the beast. The man is the Devil's servant, he could even be the devil incarnate.
Just the facts, nothing else.

I can't really see how this virtual church is going to work. Altough it is a good effort to make the church more attractive to todays online community. But I believe it's the wrong way to do it.
Just as someone pointed out, there are going to be a bunch of kids (and adults) at every service flaming the whole time. The moderation of a virtual church would be horrendous.
I don't think a open chat is a good idea. It would be a lot better to have video streams of a real church service, which anyone can tune into. This has already been done by many organizations and churches, so it's really nothing new.
Please don't post links to sites such as New York Times articles. It's always annoying we you can't read the article because you haven't signed up for this or that. i.e. refrain from such posts! Thanks!
No shit! The price better fall real by a couple of hundred percent.

Why impose sh*t on people just because they don't have enough cash to pay for a retail Windows XP?
Please... someone give them a proper OS for free.
ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!

Copies are spread through many other sources so the actual amount of downloads is probably much more than the download counter indicates!
Congrats Firefox!

It's available for download at http://suprnova.org/ Enjoy!
Actually Sweden has never asked for "shelter" by the US. During the second world war Sweden has politically neutral and didn't side with anybody.

1rst post! I am the greatest.
as of the Windows XP Service Pack 2 release, Pop-up blocking is now included into IE. Also a upgraded Firewall is in place.
I am a pirate. har har.

A good choice. I like the title. It could have been much worse: Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of Jar Jar

Oh yeah, real nice. Now we can all sleep well at night knowing about this!
Just imagine how tight you would have to have the security, and even then it would be hard to keep control over it all.
Administration of it all sounds like a impossible mission. We'll maybe not impossible, but very hard.

Does anyone actually know what this seal is going to look like? Does anyone have a picture?
