Wow, what can I say.... You don't need a new Card. If you use XP much, try installing DX9. Some new games use it, and its a must for 3d .NET programming. It supports all your DX8 cards just fine, Hardware acceleration and everything. DX9 isn't some new tech that makes your card not work. My GeForce 420 MX which isn't exactly new technology works fine with DX9. Don't bash windows to bash windows, only bash it when its true.

Its great that they can fit 50gb on one disk, but at the same time it shows a growing trend. Most things are bloated. Look at Windows XP, 2gb install, Linux usually atleast 200 mb. Then, look at the 3 ghz processers. Everything is bloated so much more. Syllable can fit in 1.44mb, and run on some really old hardware, and be nice and smooth. It shows that instead of programming things small and effiecient, we are building things bigger and faster to allow for lazier coding. I mean, with the millions of ops per second a 166mhz can handle, why should be need such high speeds to run Windows? It seems that lazier coding is the trend these days. If people still did things in ASM and such, and saved in PNG instead of BMP, we wouldn't need these 50 gb disks as much. Its sweet, but it just reminds me how much worse things have gotten at the same time. Atleast it allows newer programmers to get started easier.

I guess they must be making a great prophet to afford that. I hope this is their "killer app", as far as the other Mail Service's go. The way everyone worships Apple as far as computers go, or so it seems (I use Windows, ought oh), I think Google will soon become quite famous too if this works out.

No, Win XP does add great cost to the computer. It doesn't do everything just fine. It sometimes crashes and is highly suseptiable to viruses. It doesn't crash as much as 9x, but it still does. Windows Mobile may add cost to the device, but right now the Linux devices are still more expensive for some reason, so the price change doesn't help the consumer. In the PDA market, windows doesn't have these problems, and cost isn't hurting it. As far as RTFA, RTFP (Read my post). I said that for PDA's, linux was a bad idea. For this, it is a good idea, but I wouldn't consider this 100% PDA, because it is still quite large...

Whats the point of linux on a pda? I mean, Windows Mobile does it just fine. Its 100% designed for mobile, and even coming from microsoft, I never find it crashing. I was gonna install linux, but I didn't want to risk everything, and it was pointless I realized. Windows Mobile does everything just fine, I know your not used to hearing something good about Microsoft on /., but its true. Now, with a hybrid, it still sounds a little huge for a pda. I think once it gets that big, its really a tablet, in which case linux is a great idea. I think this is a whole new angle from which linux could attack the Mobile market, and in this case be worth it, and its advantages will be shown.

Anyone can promise Fusion 10 years into the future. It could be a very good idea, but they could crash and burn do to money problems 5 years from now. In 10 years, anything could happen to them. I mean, what is the point of even posting this, it won't effect us for 10 years, and, although they may make it, in that large time frame they will most likely fail. Its like saying Duke Nukem Forever would be made in 80 years at the origonal announcement. It could be vaporware, but nobody could find out for much longer. Of course it could be planned to be real, but in 80 years, who says we would even still be using PC's? I mean, thats an exagerattion, but its similar to whats going on here.
