When HL2/Vampire first came out, Valve put out a bunch of patches fixing a major stuttering bug on many pc configurations. When Troika was asked about fixing the bugs, they replied that there would be no patches since their budget didnt allow for it. It looks like they were counting on the game's success to carry the company, but the expectation was that the game wouldn't be a huge hit. Why else would they not want to patch the game?

Your "if I have more money then spare time why shouldn't i move ahead and have more fun?" argument is invalid. A WoW player who buys a character/weapon etc isn't taking anything away from the other people playing the game. The campers may be, but that's a different issue, either let it happen or don't. While I have never bought or sold game-related property online, which I think is a huge waste, I hold no grudge against people willing to pay real money for fake items/characters. Let them blow their money on whatever they want. If Blizzard really wanted to stop this, they could cap the max amount of gold carried based on level, they could make a fair trade system, they could limit the amount of money sent, things other MMORPGS do.

Why would you be twisting the PSP during play? What gameplay motion involves twisting?

The whole point is that a simple accident can cause your game to exit and send the disc flying, possibly damaging it in the process. Kids tend to not follow standard procedure when playing games as well... It didn't look like an extreme amount of effort went into causing the disc to eject. Yes, you have to twist it a certain way, but the fact that it can happen with such little effort makes the product that much less desirable for me.

Looks like you didn't touch logic with a 10-foot pole either. See, you grouped everyone who is a nice, harmless pot dealer with everyone who sells highly-addictive drugs like coke, heroin, or speed. You have no basis to say that peer-pressure, a bad upbringing, or any number of factors led to this girl's abuse of hard drugs, just like you have no basis to say that softer drugs caused the problem either.

How does this apply to the drug-war? Wouldn't you rather have had the opportunity to give the girl couseling when the major problems first arose? Unfortunately, we have little to no mandatory-drug programs for abusers, as hundreds of billions of dollars are being used to fight the drug-war, you had no avenue which required this girl to get help. Instead, you tried to fight the war the way it is currently being fought: you called the cops and tried to lock her up. It really shows how well the current system is working, seeing as how she 'ruined your neighborhood' with 'no penalty'.

It's sterotypical, close-minded thought like your last paragraph that will continue to ruin this nation and it's people. This girl didn't need jail! She needed MAJOR FUCKING COUNSELING. Something our current system has no means of providing. However, it is more than likely that people who think like you will never change, and the cycle will continue. 13. This battle is only the first... on Valve Wins Summary Judgment Against Vivendi · · Score: 1, Interesting

Valve & Vivendi are in another legal battle concerning the sale of HL2 on Steam. Apparently the deal was inked back when Steam was still in beta, and Valve told Vivendi that they didn't expect steam sales to even come close to retail sales. However, with Valve's early release of Counter-Strike Source bundled with a to-be-released copy of HL2, and the midnight activation on release day, Valve has sold tons of copies of HL2 on Steam. Vivendi is suing Valve for misleading them on steam sales, causing them to agree to the contract under false assumptions. However, there was no specific clause limiting steam sales in any way. This is much different that the one in the article as Vivendi explicitly broke a clause in the contract, whereas in this one Valve did not.

Look at this case as the first blow in a legal battle... The next of which is due in court by December 31st.

It was Bush's duty as president to critically examine evidence that could draw this country into war. It is pretty obvious that evidence could have been taken into account that wasn't given to the people. Nobody could argue about tangible reasons against the war in early 2003, because the government suppressed every last bit of it. All opponents could really say is, 'Well now we don't know for sure...', a rather weak argument against 'we were under imminant threat of attack'. Only after the fact do we find strong evidence from multiple sources saying that the U.N. inspectors were probably right and Iraq was no immediate threat at any length. But no, Bush had to damn Iraq as an immediate threat, when no threats had been made against the U.S. by Iraq. Since we really can't learn about any underhanded scheming, and all we have to go off of is Bush's word, then Bush failed at his duty as president.

I feel he is a monster for wanting to invade a country, causing so many deaths, creating nearly global disdain for the United States, putting fear and doubt into the minds and hearts of americans, suppressing the voices and evidence of people having opposing viewpoints, thinking all the while that we are foolish enough to accept this.
