Even though the ice crust might obfuscate things, if the light was from reflected from the area of a crevice/crack then there would be elements (or the lack thereof) in the frozen water that give some indication.
Well I dont think earthshock is the killer, its the chain lightning and chain healing waves that make it gross, because targeting multiple mobs becomes easy as the chain lightning jumps to the next enemy player and then jumps again. Multiple magma totems could do lots of area of effect damage as well. He would probably have one group which heal using chain heals to keep them all up. And being able to ressurect fallen members of his raid would allow him to reform his army as needed.
First to Jeffrey Kaplan (aka Tigole). - What range of latency do you design the game around for pvp? - With the metrics that are gathered, do you record latency, occurances of placement misses (targets behind you, out of range) and factor this in when making changes to classes for pvp balance?
Secondly to Paul Sams, Blizzard COO. What would it take to have the oceanic servers hosted in Australian? As I'm positive that there are several ISPs (apart from Telstra or Optus) that would bend over backwards to have the privilege. And there is no clear answer that I've been able to find stating why from any employee of Blizzard on the WoW forums. While I suspect that it might have been because of issues with Telstra, they could be dealt with via the ACCC.

One issue I've noticed mentioned on deviantArt is the riping of artworks and reposting them on other sites. Just wondering how well this tool would help with finding those sorts of misappropriations?
I use my DS with one of these mod carts to listen to music, as I'm not allowed to put any media on my pc at work. Cheaper than an Ipod and it has built in speakers as an alternative to wearing headphones.
I had a R4 as my first cart but changed to the M3 after finding out that the later would support the higher density mirco SD cards.
one is responsible for ones choices/actions, and if you've tried to help them but they choose to be ignorant or dismiss these problems it is THEIR OWN FAULT. Eventually they will either learn from the lessons of being pwned or they will suffer.
I could see this would be just as good for racing games as it would allow to see your cars position better when the camera is set on top of the bonnet. Would be great for when overtaking and for when going into corners.
While in principle I agree with govt employee's being seen/monitored, at what granularity of detail should there be?
For some jobs it may be ok (eg janitor), for other jobs it may not be feasible (anything IT with security implications?), or there are some areas which can be publicly monitored like the coffee/break out areas.
But until there is complete 2-way transparency where the watched can see who is watching them, there remains accountability issues from both sides of the fence.
Also Amiga tunes get remixed. And it should be noted in a variety of styles, not just techno remixes. Visa Roster do acapella covers with their version of Internation Karate being brilliant, Romeo Knight has a ph4t cover of the ballblazer tune with beastie boys vox, Machinae Supremacy started off with a wicked metal/rock cover of great giana sisters and have since done sound tracks to games, and Moog's version of Tristess is just breathtakingly emotive. I should rave on about all the other great talented remixes there, but I should get back to work.
And a big plus there are links to album/song reviews and a sales area.

But to the original question asked - Its like any medium used for communication - there are many ways of presenting information and different styles make for different experiences. There are many ways to skin a cat.
I'm not a network tech, so am merely raising the question of:
wether you could have a proxy server in to connect to then redirect to the valve steam service, masking/mascarading your IP address/etc as being from there for validating your copy?
I think i've got a similar mindset, but it's only when I'm stressed that I get to thinking about all the things I could say about what is on my mind, and searching through them trying to find the one I want to say which has the correct emotional weighting to it. And when I get too stressed the thought process seems to be stuck in a loop of spiralling thoughts which leads me to be sitting there dumb struck.
Being stressed or relaxed makes a big difference with how well I cope with that.
And now when I'm dating a girl and at some point I explain that this is what goes on in my mind occationally (besides the obvious male thoughts that close proximity to attractive ladies causes).
I got around to playing this again after hearing a cool remix of the 1st level tune done by Romeo Knight that I found on www.remix64.com
Must admit my memories of the game were from the c64 conversion which I played as a kid, but the arcade version emulated on the PS2 is pretty good to revisit nostalgia.

Being in Australia we dont call that 'zipper' traffic, its called 'merging'.
