The FBI should be glad that these guys are hanging out in chat rooms. We all know that nothing gets done by anyone that hangs out in a chat room and that 99% of everthing said in there is bullshit.
It started with the fact that XP did not ship with this already installed. Lots of companies ship their software with validation capability. XP decided to add theirs on in steps. First in just checking the serial to make sure it wasn't part of the Devil's Own release then with the WGA tool.
If Vista ships with this stuff installed right from the bat, then a user can make a choice to be a part of it or not. If Vista ships without it then MS starts adding tools to validate after the fact, that's when people start getting questioning what the hell is going on.
Light pollution is a problem even in places we think there is none (mountains, deserts, etc). You have to go pretty far to get away from it.
Here's a full-size map of light pollution in the world. [inquinamentoluminoso.it]
Most people in the US are going to have to drive pretty far to get a truly dark sky.
The biggest problem comes from where the hell are we going to put all the crap that comes out as an end result of these reactions?
Nuclear waste storage doesn't seem to be going over to well.
802.16 will work in all of the frequencies that are up for grabs. When one antenna can give a 25 mile radius, the AP problem gets a lot smaller.
Add to that the fact that Intel is going to start shipping WiMax chips, Centrino style, sometime in 2007, you've got yourself a market.
I thought there was no such thing as zero gravity? Everything has some gravitational pull on it. Effects on bees in freefall though may someday cure...something. Vertigo?
Most people that have problems with Firefox amping out their memory have it because of an extension that has a memory leak (such as SessionSaver).
Take a look at your extensions and you'll usually solve that problem.
There might be something to all of this. Maybe this set who considers themselves elite programmers/coders/sysadmins/whatevers *want* the OSS stuff to be somewhat difficult to use. A barrier to entry to keep the not-as-intelligent-as-me crowd out of what they're doing. A little job security because they're the only ones that understand it.
It's no wonder that everytime an easy-to-use distro comes out it's quickly lambasted by every Command Line Loving FreeBSD guru.
There's a lot more to it than just the look, it's the entire attitude that hurts it from taking off.
More RAM in the onboard would definitely be nice because it can be a pain in the ass to run things from the SD.
Treo's success is going to come down to price point. If they can drop their pants on the price for a bit, they're going to be able to build some pretty good market momentum.
I love my wife and my kids, but if I ever get a divorce, I'll take whatever time I can get with them, even if it's online game. I may only get them 30-50% of the time, but I can be with them all of their free time that they're willing to play online that way.
I don't see how we could terraform a planet that has already lost all of its gases due to its low mass. Domes are the only way we would ever live on Mars anyway.
You'd think that more businesses would jump on this bandwagon and promote this. Get a girl in tech and you get someone who is just as smart as a guy, will work longer hours, is less concerned about a title or promotion, and all for 2/3's the salary. Talk about hockey stick profits!

Spam has become less a piece of mail in my inbox that my filter is trying to block and more about me having to waste (more) time on Friendster or MySpace denying requests from people that are suddenly interested in my hot sex.
All that heat on your crotch CAN'T be good for the swimmers.
I thought Ted Turner was just borrowing them to colorize them?

This guy got contributions from Microsoft. Now, it was only $600 over 3 years, so not sure if it's even worth repeating, but there it is. http://www.cio.com/archive/040106/opensource.html? action=print
Now we should send the RIAA to take care of the war on drugs! Drugs will be wiped out! (Yet readily available).

Why is it $100 more for a measly 20gb drive?

You mean I'll be able to buy a next-gen system with the latest in controller and graphics technology and play games 10 years old? THAT IS AWESOME!

The EV-DO network is *supposed* to be a software solution, not in the hardware, so we may see hacks for our 650's soon.
Well, it might not have guns, violence, or swearing, but at least they'll have nudity to fall back on...

I think all the versions are just to confuse the pirates. Man, I hope I download the proper one...
I like it when the first post is 100 times better than the topic post could ever be.
"They didn't let me do everything I wanted and wouldn't do what I told them to do, so I quit."
These aren't the droids we're looking for.
