Certainly by "almost everyone" you are referring to some specific demographic of which a majority "has their base music collection built by now." There will forever be people that are "just now" getting into music or new types of music and wanting to get their ears on everything they can. I personally have bought maybe 3 CDs in the past 3 years. I don't download music either, I just haven't been interested. But if I had the money and the time and the inclination, there is a whole host of music that I'd want to add to my collection, which is mainly CDs released 5-10 years ago.

I doubt it. It probably does mean that they will be more familiar with open source things for the future, and will be more comfortable with whatever programs they actually do use than MS ones. However, that doesn't mean they are going to understand (or care) why that software was chosen over MS.

  7. Re:Now's a good time to ask... on Free Comic Book Day 2005 · · Score: 2, Insightful

You are operating under the false assumption that comic books cannot be epic or have book-quality stories. This simply isn't true. While it is probably true of the standard Marvel/DC monthly comic book issue, it is not true of the comic book as a medium. Trade paperbacks often contain epic stories in comic book format with drama and characters that you care about in the same way a good book or movie can get you to care about characters.

Any comic book store in the world can participate in Free Comic Book Day, although there may be some limitations on which titles are available in which countries due to licensing and other considerations. If you want your local store to get involved, let them know!
