Well, this only works if you just use Windows Computers. I regularly visit different labs at uni: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris. If I installed all the Software I need, I would fill up my flash drive so fast, there won't be any room for files.
The best replacement for Corel Draw on Linux to date is Xara Xtreme. It is also available for Windows and Mac OS. It's very fast and beats Inkscape in features. Of course neither of these three is a match for Freehand or Illustrator.
"Recognized for selfless love and devotion to His Shadow."
I'm sure some of you won't know that "his shadow" is the main evil character in the sci-fi series LEXX's first season. His shadow rules a vast empire of humans and his goal is to destroy humanity.
Isla Perejil in the Mediterranean
Pop: 0 Area: 500 m x 300 m
It is located just 5 km from the spanish exclave Ceuta and 200 m off the coast of Morocco. The land is disputed between these two nations, but remains uninhabited. In 2002 Morocco tried to take it by force, but Spain sent their special forces to conquer the island. Noboy had to die in this little war.
None of the two countries want the other one to have it. So we pirates should just take it and use the money to settle there. This would make a fine micronation under the mediterranian sun.
During the clone aera Apple lost the most money on high-end systems. The fastest Mac machines you could get were usually clones. But it was and is on the high-end model they made the most money. Of course there were also crappy cheap clones, but this didn't hurt Apple financially as much.
When Apple licensed iTunes/iPod to other manufacturers, this could happen again. Only this time Apple has absolutely no reason at all to do this. iPods dominate the market.
Their cash cows are dying
I would like to see some proof for this statement. MS is far from dieing, as are Office and Windows. Windows still has a 90+ % marketshare in Personal Computers. Just look at how 5 years without a new desktop OS has hardly scratched them.
Apparently it takes a good deal of effort to delete a shortcut in Windows Vista. I have a feeling this humorous picture sequence anonymously posted on Flickr won't last too long so I'm reposting it here and linking the original image. Chances are that by the time the retail version ships, deleting a shortcut will be much the same as it is now but this is worth a posting for a laugh.
Don't compare XP Home to Mac OS X. It's XP Pro you have to compare, to be feature equivalent.
The point you are missing entirely, is nobody forces you to buy every Upgrade from 10.1 to 10.4. There are still lots of people working with 10.2 and 10.3. Remember back in the 90s. Nobody was forced to buy Win 95, 98 and 98 SE. 10.1 was a free upgrade from 10.0. So there are only four upgrades you have to pay for.
The upgrades are full operating systems, so if you buy every release, you can always sell the last version for about 80 $/.
They really should have included an USB Sounddevice with optical Audio in and out and an analog Audio in. That's really missing.
Otherwise, this is an expected product.
In Germany many people buy cheap no-brand PCs or build their own machines from parts they buy. Homebuilt and no-name have a higher market share share here, than in the US.
These cheap boxes normally come without OS to be able to further cut the price. I know many people, who just buy the machine and get Windows plus Office installed by some PC-guy.
Some of my friends with their overcloX0red loud towers spend the money on a new graphics card instead of an OS.
Luckily, I have a Mac. Pirating Operating Systems was never easier. Hell, you don't even need to enter a Serial!

The first rule of usenet is: Don't talk about usenet.
The second rule of usenet is: Don't talk about usenet.
This is not Linux, you know. Windows works more like: "It's gonna make us money. Ship it."

Well Stuffit 9.02 seems to win this round. It took under 3 minutes on a 2 GHz iMac G5.
Yes, why doesn't anybody ever think of them!

How much does it cost to upgrade 5 PCs from Windows 2000 (NT 4.0) to Windows XP (NT 4.1)?
Compate this.

Nice troll you are, my little friend. But i'll bite.
All Macs ship with USB-Ports for connecting mouse and keyboards since 1998. Macs never had PS2, they had ADB.
PCs are shipping now for years with USB standard ports.
Remenber Amiga OS 4 runs on PPC too. Once they finish the product, this will be huge.
MS Access is not available for OS X. Yes it is a crappy database application. The Mac is ruled by the great Filemaker.
But some people depend on Access, because their company uses it a lot.
Sometimes whole special apps have been made with Access.
This is what hinders some people from switching to a Mac. You can run it only in Virtual PC at snail-speed if you have to.

You can use the free Patchburn to enable burning from Apple's iApps with nonsupprted burners.
OS X 10.3.7 has this 2038 bug. As I found out now.
