Look at febterday's news, you'll see a story with the 'could this open some eyes' in one of the summaries, it's one of those 'opinion, not fact' types of things that typically shouldn't be in a story summary
First I hear they're essentially getting out of the film business, now they're starting on paper too... I guess they're really heavily banking on digital..
Perhaps we should all be trying to submit stories that have already appeared on the front page in an effort to force the editors to scrutinize harder, and maybe, just maybe, it'll stick....
Now I use userContent.css found at here and flashblock. It doesn't block EVERY ad but damn near everything, and no updating the blacklist, though if you want even more you can use the userContent.css + adblock + flashblock + firefox popup blocker for the ultimate protection
I once saw a show on the television that said the US army already crimps PB&J sandwiches as a type of combat ration... they last for a while, apparently!
I submitted the story, and forgot to include this as food for thought:
Think of a typical family of four. My own just did this. Say this family wants to go to Disneyland from Canada. As it stands, my parents were able to go with the young'ns without a problem, and none of them have passports. Tourists from Canada are a part of the US economy. Had the passports been required, it would have cost: 87 + 87 + 37 + 37, plust GST, which is a total of 265.36$, and that doesn't even include the trouble of finding a guarantor and taking passport photos which cost more than normal photos. This is on top of any other travel costs, likely for a single trip. This will most definitely deter Canadians from visiting and spending money in the US. Not to mention that passports take at least 3 weeks to get, ruling out any sudden decisions to say pick a US ski package to a Canadian one. I personally enjoy taking trips to the US, but this makes it much harder, and I'm certain this scenario will be repeated.
Check the second link in the story, click final standings, you'll see the high school ranked first place in the explorer class, the first thing on the PDF. First, not third.

Steal a penny from a man, you're a thief, steal a penny from many men, you're a banker.
(Like others, I find competition might garner lower fees, so here's to hoping)

Bring on the acronyms: YAZBS (Yet Another Zonk Blogging Story)
I was able to use autocomplete for the subject, big surprise there, another Zonk blogging story
"I'll have my lunch now. A single pillow of shreaded wheat, some steamed toast, and a dodo egg"
I've been using this for a while, it works with Ipod Shuffles as well, just drag/drop, haven't tried any of the advanced features though

One of the links on the story shows up darker than the rest. (For those who don't get it, firefox shows visited slashdot links as darker)
This could give a whole new meaning to wardrivng.

The legal drinking age in Quebec and Alberta is 18, I'm sure someone in Vermont (or Montana) could verify this too ;-)

Remember guys, any platform. Wine has also been ported to Windows.... (!)
It's actually toque in English, I live here, I know. It's from the French word tuque.
It is available, at least in the Toronto-Montreal corridor. Only on VIA1 (first class) though.
That at the top of the page, an ad for HP shows up?
