This ComputerWeekly's article says there was a failure of a communications satellite over the weekend that knocked out US broadband services supplied by StarBand Communications. The total loss of Intelsat's Americas-7 satelllite forced StarBand to move customers to a different satellite. StarBand did not say how many subscribers were affected, but is attempting to provide them with a temporary dial-up service.
How about GoMadic? I had to configure this with my father's notebook and Palm Pilot PDA. It works, but it is very slow (dial-up speed with EarthLink and PPP).
"The Air Force is consolidating its 38 software contracts and nine support contracts with Microsoft into two all-encompassing, agencywide agreements, according to a statement seen by CNET News.com.
The contract, done in conjunction with Dell, will call for the installation and configuration of software as well as ongoing maintenance and upgrades. The deal, which includes 525,000 licenses of Microsoft's Windows and Office, is valued at $500 million over six years, according to Microsoft."

VHS tape is not dead for me!

The VHS is Dead

I still use it to record TV shows. I don't have a PVR/DVR due to the high cost. I will retire using VHS tapes is when my VCR breaks to get a PVR/DVR. The VCR is only like 3-4 years old so it has a while.
Don't forget you can get these if you don't want to pay online especially for young people who don't have credit cards or parents won't let them. Ask your friends, family members, etc. for them as Christmas and birthday gifts.
In World of Warcraft, you can use CosmosUI to customize your GUI in game. It's very handy and can be overwhelming!
Can EQ2 do this modifications? I would love to check out the game without subscribing. I am hoping Sony will do a free trial, without credit card requirement, like SW:G trial.
If I wasn't into PC gaming, I wouldn't be needing to upgrade every two years for CPUs, motherboards, etc. Even my P3 1 Ghz office computer does well for what I need to do that doesn't do gaming.
I reuse old parts for other machine as my Linux workstation which doesn't do gaming. Basically, I reuse stuff for at least four years. Anything else older that I positively won't use again, I donate to charity, sell, etc. Anything broken (e.g., dead mice, printers, etc.), I get rid of them.
Fact: I finally retired my SB 16 ISA in September 2004. I had it since December 1993. Amazing that it still works. I can't use it anymore with the newer motherboards due to lack of ISA slots.:P
I am surprised that Blizzard lets people to test this MMORPG with stress test, closed tests, open beta, etc. for a long time. I have to give kudos for the company in doing to get rid most of the issues even when 23rd is two weeks away! Good job, Blizzard!
How is the game funny?

tricops: Ah, thanks. Oh and funny signature. ;)
Eh? I haven't seen this movie (not even the first one) so I don't know what the joke is about.

I have to admit that looks cool.
See this Planet Half-Life forum thread.

Are there any photographs and videos of this event?

EB = $29.99
Walmart = $29.82
Are there any more U.S. stores that sell these that I didn't list?
See VE3D and here.
Bombcar: But if you read carefully, some people never had this problem before.
Some people are getting motion sickness from this game. See this newsgroup thread.
Half-Life 2, not Half Life. Sorry, I am being picky. :)
See the photographs, link, and comments on AQFL.

Yep, but that book is too technical. ;)
Uncle Milton's Ant Farm (the ones with green frames). Ants are educational and fun to watch. ;)

Ditto. Mozilla does this. I like how IE6.0 SP2 in XP SP2 handle this. It gives you a message under the browser toolbar to view the pop-up or not.

I wonder if ants did the same to survive this nuclear winter.
See here. :(
I was hoping there was a movie in the past, but IMDb shows one for 2005!
