    Funny. My friend installed from the CDs, created a Steam account, authorized and unlocked the files (took about 20 mins to unlock) and then was off and playing, without downloading a thing.

    Why do you think the "activation" took 20 minutes to complete?

    Still, I'm waiting for some wireless monitor technology to come out. Why have a PC in every room when you can just walk around with a wireless LCD, keyboard and mouse?
    Just attach a computer (the weak and pathetic may use a laptop) with wlan and a vnc client to a monitor (the weak and pathetic may use a lcd).
    Or get yourself a laptop....

    Yes, and and how many square miles is Sweden compared to the United States. Population density is an issue when it comes to broadband deployment. Taiwan, Japan, and other very densely populated countries have a huge advantage over more sparsely populated nations like the U.S.

    Actually, USA (~29 inhabitants/square kilometer) has a higher population density than Sweden (~20 inhabitants/square kilometer) does.

    just recently installed "ubuntu" (gnome 2.6).. which I must say is a really nice looking slim UI/theme. All around good distro.
    Ubuntu is actually Gnome 2.8.

    I'm using Bredbandsbolagets fibre connection. 10Mbit full duplex for about $55/month. 100Mbit is also availible for about $95/month, but it is limited to 300gb traffic each month, so I don't want it.

    Still doesn't feel like its enough though. I want that Japanese shit.
