They'll use it to their advantage. 1) The London attacks did not happen on US soil. Therefore the measures taken MUST HAVE WORKED ("this rock keeps tigers away"). 2) Conveniently, the war on terror will never be over. Therefore we should extend the patriot act for as long as damn well possible.
Maybe if you make the letters disappear for 5 seconds after you press it, it will force people to try to rememeber where previously pressed keys are. This allows the learner to see the key for the first time. If they hunt and peck faster, the will start having to remember where the keys are.
America will have fifty megacorporations. All of them will have one employee, a CEO. Everything else will be outsourced to other countries, and the CEO will bring in 150-200million a year as salary, without benefits.
Those poor CEOs. How will they feed themselves when they are only paid enough to buy a loaf of bread?
I don't have any facts to back this up, but my guess is that it is much easier to enforce a tax on power generation companies than it is to enforce one on every automobile company trying to do business in the country.
... people attacked each other for their land and possessions. Considering the increasing scarcity of land, someone crazy enough might decide to attack a community who lacks the resources to defend themselves.
Of course, if anyone can "sell" their PC's cycles, then apartment owners will have to stop offering "utilities-included" leases. The day will come when some landlord discovers an apartment with a couple dozen PCs slurping down the kWh and raking in the money. If CPU time sells for just $0.25/hr/CPU (1/2 to 1/4 the resale value), a couple dozen PCs can bring in more than $50k/year.
And then all landlords will be millionares, apartments will require smokestacks to vent excess heat, and all apartment owners will be homeless. =P
Alan Greenspan will rebuke thousands of landlords for their irrational exuberance. I anticipate the great CPU Cycle crash of 2012.
And that's why we need HTML sarcasm tags. They should be hidden by default. That way most users will not have to deal with their uglyness.
For clueless users, the tags should be highlighted and a giant message should appear at the top of the page. "Warning - The following content may not be suitable for all audiences. May contain sarcastic or witty commentary."
That's the beauty of it; as the rest of the world cages themselves into the new Internet, the spammers and other baddies will follow the mass. Then we can get our Internet back =P
Create a real revolution by showing the world that the traditional "pay me in advance for music" concept isn't the only way.
I thought we already abondoned that approach and went for the "pay my after I've already made my music" strategy.. It seems like artists are soon going to have to revert back to the pay me in advance approach.
Except this time, the twist is that you make your art, distribute it to the world and if a small portion of the people like it enough to want more, you have money to make your next piece of art.
Some interesting commentary indeed.
Maybe DVForge should patent a method that prevents an iPod from being scratched while being docked.
Specifically, the would patent that rubber bulb at the back and they could somehow patent the 'innovative' uncovered ipod design.
I am not a patent laywer and I'll bet that this is infeasable. Anyone (who knows the law) know why this is infeasable?

It's a fan fiction. No pictures. Amusing for anyone who has a sense of humor.

The parent post is absolutely correct. It's called qwerty.

What are you talking about? GP just said that it was interesting. Not that it was justified.

From then on, I've always kept the lab floor clear.
=P
You must be new here. We're not talking about poor people. We're talking about dumb people.
Everyone knows intellectuals like us are the poor ones.
Don't forget to film your experience and share it with the world.
It's also a really old joke.

Please don't ever teach your children the meaning of sarcasm. ;)
Entropy sure ain't what it used to be.

'twas a joke, good sir.

How do I put them together?
Tried putting the magnet link into the location box.. It sits for a while and seems to be searching, but fails to return.
Curious as I am, I found this: Linux file system defrag
Hope that helps anyone else who is wondering about this.

And the mods marked you as troll. Please mark this +1 Irony.
Watch the series first.. The space scenes are silent except for the music. And there are space stations with no wings.
I was surprised at the sounds when I saw the trailer..
