And its not just one political party that has this behavior, both Republicans and Democrats have it, extualy most US residents seem to have this emotional tie with there "local" party.

That is not at all the point, ok it is for France, but for most people here it is because they distrust EA, I would be evenly uneasy about simular actions towards Activision or id Software.
You lift one fact of this situation and asume it is the major point of discusion, where as the main reason people get uneasy about this whole happening is the involvement of EA.
If, lets say, Take Two was the one purchasing UbiSoft stock, the whole thing would be much less of a "problem". On the other hand I think they would have anounced there plans beforehand.

  16. Re:Why Bash on EA Trying to Buy Ubisoft Shares · · Score: 1

The problem these people have with this is that inovative and creative development is rare, to say the least, with EA. UbiSoft has been responsible for some pretty big surprises, Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia, and they are doing a hell of a job with the Tom Clancy license, one of the bigest things in gaming last year was Splinter Cell 2's multiplayer, combining 3rd person sneaking with 1st person shooting. Things are happening in UbiSofts studios, things that are putting smiles on the faces of gamers. Something that will mostlikely change when EA dictates the menu.
