IT Reference Posters?

I've found that there are alot of things that are lacking in the IT world, especially in the way of quick reference documentation for specific industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) that have standards which only someone with experience in those industries would know about. It would be nice to have a quick reference guide (like a data dictionary but a little more in depth) that explains some of this ESPECIALLY where standardized data is concerned. This could be a nice little side project/business for you if you can find someone to team up with who knows about syntax. Throw up a small website or pitch it to a publishing company and you could have yourself a good second source of income. Think of those little laminated cheat sheets sold for high school calculus or physics classes.
can someone explain the difference between a real time strategy and real time tactics game for me please? Are these names just synonyms, or is there an actual difference in the gameplay (like RPG vs. Action RPG)?

DS Specs:
CPU:
- Main processor is an ARM 9 (running at 67 mHz)
- Cache: 8 KB Instruction Cache, 4 KB Data Cache
- Other processor is an ARM 7 (running at 33 MHz)
Memory/RAM:
- Main memory is 4 MB
- ARM 9 and ARM 7 each have 16 KB
- The internal RAM is 64 KB and the VRAM (Video RAM) is 656 KB.
I'm not sure how much java it wil be able to handle with such a small amount of RAM (my cell phone has more than that). It will be interesting to see this though. I know personally I will be buying one, but whether or not it will be worth the money (how much is it by the way?) is another story.
I love when people bring this up but don't stop to mention that the ps2 is now less than $200 while the xbox360 is still at least $400 (for the full featured version). Not to mention that there are a number of (OLD) games out for the PS2 that have been cut to $20 while Xbox360 games are still full priced ($50+).
In other news. Honda is shipping more cars than Mercedes Benz. I wonder why.
And the PS2 WILL sell more units than the PS3 when it finally arrives in stores because there are more people who don't currently own a PS2 and may consider picking one up for $150 or less (like I did), than there are fanboys who will drop $600 on a console.
It is not known exactly how the coding system will work, but industry experts tell Think Secret that the software would likely either limit the number of playbacks
1) Download screen and audio capture utility (google) 2)Download movie 3)Install screen and audio capture utility 4) Run screen and audio capture utillity 5) PLay the movie in full screen mode 6) Burn recorded movie to DVD 7)Enjoy! and/or Profit!
or provide unlimited viewing for a period of time, after which the movie will be "turned off" and no longer available.
Unless you have to phone home every time you want to watch the movie, this timer would probably be based on the system clock. Remember those old demo's that only allowed you to play them for a month or so? Remember how you could always get around that by simply changing the system clock to an earlier date (hell you could do it for older versions of Adobe Illustrator)? Yeah.. I'm not sure how many ITMS users are computer savvy enough to make changes to their systems BIOS, but those that are won't have any trouble doing this.
Why doesn't the BPI take a page out of the RIAA's playbook and simply pay off a few russiangovernment officials who will make this "issue" a priority, thus inspiring a host of bullshit legislation regarding digital media? Cut out the middle man, the british foreign secretary, and go straight to the offending country's government officials.
It's working here in the home of the (decreasingly) free, land of the (usually) brave.
I would argue that Mortal Kombat, the first one in the trilogy, doesn't belong in this list. It was actually well done for a video game to movie adaptation. Well done in the sense that it stayed true to its video game roots, special movies and actors in the movie were pretty much dead on with the video game, and was not a complete suckfest like Mario Brothers or House of the Dead. Also, the storyline was not altered too much.
Taking this a step further, I remember back when the original wolfenstein 3d came out, you could play the shareware (remember shareware?) version, then choose to buy the next bit of it, and after finishing that, then buy the final portion of the game. They were literally called episodes.
And yet the other 2 images were not slapped on 30 foot billboards with the slogan "white is coming". I would rather have seen the 2nd image (the 2 facing off on equal grounds) than the first or last. It just makes more sense than having 2 women assaulting each other. I doubt these guys are racist, but they did make a pretty big boneheaded mistake.
P.S. why did they feel the need to personify the PSP with people in the first place? There are literally thousands of other ways to show the contrast of these 2 colors than using people. A good idea would have been to use an eclipse.
There was actually a video of a guy (supposed rapper from philly) named Joey Jihad (don't ask.. I don't know either) posted on youtube a while ago. Long story short, a few of the street thugs standing on the corner told waved him down out of his car, had him come over and start freestyling on camera, then one ran up and knocked him out (sucker punched).. then stole his car.
The video was posted online. The guy who sucker punched Jihad is now dead.
Moral of the story: People do stupid shit and post it on the internet hoping to gain popularity. Those same acts, which may have gone unpunished, cost them a great deal in the long run because they want the world to see how much of a "badass" they are (see high school fight clubs, the "stop snitchin" dvd, etc.). Some are lucky enough to get jail time while others lose their lives.
Oh, I managed to find a google video link of the incident:
I remember back in the mid-late 90's (p2-p3 era) my dad giving my grandparents one of my old computers (which was too outdated to play the latest greatest games) so they could check email, surf the web, etc. All the necessary programs needed to do these things were already installed (which made the initial setup a whole lot easier). Unfortunately he listed me as the designated computer guy, so anytime there was a problem, they were instructed to call me and I would figure it out. Most of the time they had trivial issues like trying to figure out which programs did what, getting printers to work right, etc. One particular time, however, my grandmother called me and told me that she couldn't get "the cupholder on the computer to work" anymore.
I couldn't figure out what the hell she was talking about for a good 30 minutes, thinking that maybe she put some kind of cupholder attachment onto the case itself. Then I realized that it was, yes, the CD rom drive..:(
Rolls Royce Silver Mist, Silver Shadow Rolls Royce changed the name of its car the Silver Mist to the Silver Shadow before entering Germany. In German, "Mist" means manure (to put it nicely).
Salem Cigarettes The American slogan for Salem cigarettes, "Salem - Feeling Free," got translated in the Japanese market into "When smoking Salem, you feel so refreshed that your mind seems to be free and empty."
Samarin Lars Bergquist tells us: Samarin is a Swedish over-the-counter remedy for upset stomachs. (Like Alka-Seltzer.) A few years back they used ads that looked like comic strips with no text. There were three pictures. The first was a man looking sick, grasping his tummy. On the second picture he drank a glass of Samarin and on the third picture he was smiling again. The ad campaign was a success in Europe. However, when the company ran the ad in Arabic-speaking newspapers they did not do too well. I guess that they didn't know that in those countries people read from right to left.... (See the I18nGuy page on User Interfaces For Right-To-Left Languages.)
Schweppes Tonic Water In Italy, a campaign for Schweppes Tonic Water translated the name into Schweppes Toilet Water.
Toyota MR2 Marcel Rigadin reports that Toyota makes the MR2, which in France is pronounced "merdé" or spelled 'merdeux', means "crappy". (Mentioned in Dave Taylor's Global Software.)
Chevy Nova, Vauxhall Nova, Opel Corsa When General Motors introduced the Chevrolet (aka Chevy) Nova in South America, it was apparently unaware that "no va" means "it won't go". After the company figured out why it wasn't selling any cars, it renamed the car in its Spanish markets to the Caribe.
Wang Cares In the late '70s, the American computer company Wang was puzzled why its British branch refused to use its latest motto "Wang Cares". However, to British ears the motto sounds too close to "wankers". (masturbaters) Thanks to Malcolm Howlett!
Since there will be different versions of the XBox 360, does that mean that console game makers will now be putting "system requirements" on console games?
Wasn't one of the main reasons people said they preferred console games to PC games because they didn't have to worry about their system being able to handle running the game? Because it "just works"? Now console gamers have to be mindful of system requirements as well.
I'm pwning with one hand..

I was thinking about picking this game up. How is the online community as far as coop play?

I remember this being done for several computer games of that time.
The only difference is you couldn't download the episodes, and if you were from a small town you had to order them and have them sent to you.
We'd still be playing Half Life modds..

Wake me when they release Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
