http://www.plextor.com/english/products/716A.htm That is plextors 16x DVD burner that will also burn dual layer @ 4x. Personally, after my experience with the PX-708A, I wouldn't buy it.
I've already had to send my drive in for RMA, and about 2 months ago, the new drive stopped reading/writing cds. Any cds, not just recordables.
Even, though I did get about 1000+ discs burnt with my plextor 48x cd burner broke(the laser wouldn't lower, not allowing the tray to open).
Well, I've stuck to XP, mostly cause most of my games and hardware is windows/mac only. But cowdung, or as Microsoft calls it Longhorn, is the first MS OS that I wont use on my personal computer.
Personally, I'll probably look at a Mac for my next computer, but will still continue to 'try' linux to see if it would just be better to stick with a PC. Though, the only real distro I've tried is Fedora, haven't had too much luck with it. Especially, with using their GUI automatic update program for downloading/installing new kernels.
Hopefully, by the time I go looking for my next computer, Linux will be made for people not good enough to master a command prompt driven OS.
What progress in the music industry. 90% of music is made today in the pursuit of money, not in the pursuit of art. Shoot, most of the artists today probably don't even make their own music, its been so digitized that it doesn't even sound like the person, or someone else wrote the lyrics, or the 'artist' doesn't even own the copyright.
Do I think that people should get paid for their works. Yes. But theres a difference in getting paid, and exploiting the system(though the entertainment industry isn't the only system that exploits the system).
I would think most great, even some of the not so great, artists would make most of their money from touring, not really from cd/online music sales, though Eminem does makes quite a bit from his cds.
Shoot, movie actors usually get paid up front flat fee for their service, and only can say big earnings means bigger earnings on their next project.
The key word in Article I Section 8 Clause 8 of the Constitution is 'useful'. How Britney Spears, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, or Metallica is useful to the society is foriegn to me.
$350 + XM subscription, going to be a little bit harder to sell this product. Sure XM is a great service, but I couldn't see getting one of these, unless I can tap into my dads service.
Got the game at 10am this morning, was about 25 other people there standing with me waiting to get there hands on it.
All I got to say, its pretty sweet, don't know about the eating thing. Haven't played that much of it so far, but its pretty good, though for some reason I don't feel like jacking everybody.
At least the Soundtrack is on point. Listening to Ice Cube, NWA, & Dr. Dre while cruizing the streets, is pure greatness.
Ms. Tyler is a huge fan of Halo, and I could see allowing her to play it, since people say shes actually really good and played Halo 1 since the Xbox came out.
The case that they get to play Halo2 is sweet though. Its a fact that Celebs get all the perks. Makes me less sad for Bungie/MS about the Halo2 leak, especially since I don't have an Xbox.
XM already has higher number of subscribers, and a lot of new GM vehicles come with XM + 3 month subscription. My dad got one in his new 1500, and seems to like it quite a bit.
The only thing I see Sirius having, is Howard Stern in 18 months, but I don't think that will have as much effect as Sirius does.
Really, the biggest worry for XM(as well as Sirius) is HD radio signals.
Step 1: Dominate Search Engines - check
Step 2: Dominate webmail - currently working on it
Step 3: Create Desktop applications - check
Step 4: Create Google OS
I wouldn't be suprised if Google in the next 4 years would just go ahead and create their own OS. Might as well, they seem to be entering all the other software markets.
Kinda hard to compare these too, considering the cater to 2 different audiences on 2 different platforms. Though, both offer real-time engines, pikmin2 is more of a strategy game, where as Fable is an RPG. Fable has more of a realistic gritty feel, Pikmin2 has a cartoony happy-happy feel.
I think at most, they might even out in sales over time.
Though, I haven't played either game, cause I only have a PS2 & PC(hopefully, get a Xbox for Christmas or Gamecube, might get GC cause of RE4 though Halo2 would interest me more), I just don't see how you can compare these 2. It would be like comparing GTA:SA & Halo 2.
Also, considering Fable was coming from Lionhead studios, notorious for creating goals and not meeting them. Players should have known it wouldn't live up to the hype.
Well, hopefully by 2007 these bots will have come down in price. The Honda & Sony bots cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I doubt every rich person on the planet will go out and pay for this, considering they'll have to pay even more for a robot technician than what it would cost for hiring a human being.
Theres also a thing called, renting the game. I rarely buy games, cause I rent them. I can rent about 7-8 games for the price of 1, and considering the average time of gameplay is far less than the 5-7 days I get to play it when I rented the game. It gives me plenty of time to experience the game.
Seriously, that Zilla movie was the worst abomination to Godzilla I have ever seen. I spent my childhood watching Gozilla movies on Saturday & Sundays enjoying every minute, until Hollywood ruined it.
We need to Boycott Hollywood, and stop them from importing movies(Shall We Dance, The Ring).
With the new IPOD shown having a color screen, and ability to view photos and stuff. Still puts the Ipod on top. Just wishing I would have got an Ipod instead of the crappy RCA lyra that seems to be dying on me.
My Grandma will be happy hearing this. She's been waiting for the EE since they released the original dvd. It's amazing how much of a Star Wars/LoTR nut.
Bout time they announced HL2 went gold, considering the source code has been sitting on Steam(people who bought a copy using steam, had an unactivated HL2 on their hard drives) users hard drives for a week or so.
Pretty awesome that they already gave steam users the ability to download the game pre-release, though they can't play HL2 till it goes on sale in retail establishments.
Man, I seriously need to learn Linux asap. If not cause of all the super holes found lately, as for the fact Microsoft doesn't seem to care too much about the user base.
Wow, they're really working hard lately considering they were going to start a series called Strangerhood using the Sims 2 built-in movie maker, was really hoping to see what they could do considering what they've done with RvB.
It's sad to see the morality police trying to use any excuse possible to control content they don't approve of.
Using the logic of these misguided individuals, the next trend will be for kids to start making big balls out of everything, imitating Katamari Damacy.
I think its more cause they decided to focus more on getting the DS out before the PSP, to try an take the wind out of Sony's portable systems sails.
I think MS would do better to have better control over the games released to their console. Most of them are poorly implemented pieces of garbage; though, there are those rare gems like Halo2 & Ninja Gaiden.
