I know a friend of mine got burned when buying his rig about 2 years ago, PCI-e had just come out, and he didn't expect it to kill AGP in a matter of days. So, I'd say that was a bad time to buy a midrange system. (PCI-e was at the expensive end at the time)

  4. Re:Conflict of Interest on Peter Molyneux Talks Next-Gen Combat and Wii · · Score: 1

I disagree with your sentiment. You asked "how many games outside of arcade use lightguns" to which the obvious answer is basically "none" This is an unfair question though because rail shooters and first person shooters aren't the same thing. The reason why there are no FPS games that support lightguns is spread between the design and the economics of development.

#1 every lightgun game that I know of is designed as a rail shooter, you don't (or have VERY limited) control the game. With that in mind a regular controller cannot suffice. This is where the Wii controller improves, apparently it can act as a control (nunchauku attachment) and as a lightgun (pointer) a the same time

#2 for the most part, lightgun games have had to use custom hardware to deal with problem #1. This is generally an expensive ordeal, especially if the company isn't Sega. I guess what I'm getting at is I imagine that it will be easier for a dev studio to work on implementing lightgun styled controls if the first party control already does precisely what they want in the first place.

Well, those are my inflated $0.02.

I will comment that you could indeed screw up your Morrowind game by killing some NPCs. One of which I believe had the underground haven for the zombie people I think they were called "Corprus Diseased." Part of the main quest was to get infected with this disease and that NPC would give you a potential cure. I forget how the rest turned out but I know if you killed him a message would pop up that you could no longer finish the game and asks if you want to load your game or continue screwing around.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion; a game that would largely fly over the heads of anyone younger than 16. Or maybe Prey; ultraviolent, bizarre, first person shooter that would give nightmares to anyone younger than 16. Why don't we try Gaming with Audioslave, how many children do you know that listen to Audioslave? Dead Rising, Saint's Row, and Call of Duty 2 all have visual presence on the front page, that's gotta say more about their advertising than finding the link to the family oriented software that your links slant to.

What I don't understand is why those skinny little kids always try to pick on the big quiet kid. A buddy of mine was teaching english in China, and he was saying one of his students was like 5'10 and about 180lbs where all the other students were like 4'4 and half his weight. They'd always pick on this kid for being "fat" and my buddy couldn't figure out why this kid wouldn't just tear them in half and shit in the stumps. He even told the kid that he'd give him 10 minutes before "noticing" what was happening, but I guess the kid was too shy/gentle to take him up on the offer.
