See, that's why I don't have a cell phone, but I never care to tell her that. See, whenever I get in a situation like that I just say, "I was itching to call you, but I lost my cell phone and there weren't any landlines that I could use for personal calls available."
The only problem is that now she thinks I'm a klutz for losing my cell phone all the time.
I don't know about anyone else but my take on XNA was that it was for hobbyists or small dev teams who make games for fun. I couldn't imagine a 'real' developer would make their games in XNA. On top of that, the people who want to use XNA are probably doing so because they want to use it for PC/xbox development. They probably weren't going to develop games for PS3 or Wii anyway.
well if you want to get technical LoC was only $50. . . I shelled out the $200 to get the first game and controller, and enjoyed it. By the time I bought LoC there were no players left. . .
With that said, I'd be happy to play it with other people through one of the tunneling servers. . .
The problem isn't that Sony paid for cheap-tactics marketing, it's that the attempt is so thinly veiled. Have you even looked at the site yet? It is so obviously created by a marketing firm that is pretending to be an authentic teenager. I don't know about anyone else but if I'm going to have someone lying to my face I'd rather they actually make it believable.
but then you aren't playing a racing simulation, you're playing an arcade racer. My motivation in racing games is the same, competition with friends. My problem though, is when people intentionally buffer car you into a wall, or take an impossibly tight corner knowing that they're just going to hit your car and cause you to spin out. If the risk of death were there then I imagine they'd instead try to win by out accelerating me out of the turn, or taking the turn better than I do, not by chinsing me out of the race. ..
To be fair though, the idea of risk of death is more for multiplayer with stats tracking or something than it is for single player. . . especially since games like Gran Turismo take like 300 hours to get to the end:(
you are correct in that live updates are required, but if you intentionally void the warranty of your xbox 360 so that you can run homebrew and/or backups (read: pirated software), then you have absolutely no right to demand microsoft fix your system. Personally I believe that it is in microsoft's right to intentionally brick modded consoles if you are stupid enough to use it online. Don't get me wrong because I will mod my 360 some day, but if it gets bricked somehow I won't be blaming microsoft. I'll be blaming myself for modding it!
I think the general consensus is that ken's labyrinth, wolfenstein 3d, and doom are the father, son, and holy ghost of FPS genre. Just because you consider Quake to be the first, it doesn't make you right. . .
I'd just like to comment that the one thing I want the most in a simulation racing game is the fear of death. Often when I'm playing a multiplayer racing game, everyone knows that the only risk in taking a corner dangerously is spinning out and possibly damaging his/her car. The benefit of taking that corner dangerously is often worth the risk associated, so as a result you'll see other drivers unrealistically driving in a supposed racing simulator. If there were a risk of crashing into a wall and killing your character then I imagine the simulation would be closer to real life.
actually I was more just saying that because I figured some rabid fanboy would have come back at me with his top 10 reasons why the xbox isn't as big as I was implying. I meant no offense.
why not still flip it and then buy a new one later on? He says that he doesn't really have a use for it at the moment, and let's say that the average Ebay sale is now $1000 (cooled down from the $1400s a few weeks ago) he could then flip it for the thousand and buy a new one once they start showing up on store shelves making about $400 profit (to be enjoyed on say, a 360 or a Wii. . .
oh come on man, refute me with a news article that isn't complete shit. I imagine that this was the weakest article you dug out, but come on, look at it before you link it! In his first paragraph he reasons it a winner because it sold its initial supplies. His second paragraph, well I guess it's personal opinion but I can't hear my 360 over my PC's ~22dB (about, not minus:) so I have no idea about that ill-mannered roar. His third is sound, but I fail to see why he needed to talk about IBM's 16,000 cell supercomputer. His fourth is a solid argument but I think it is a little early, considering the fact that even the greatest looking games aren't even filling up a dual layer DVD. His fifth is all personal opinion, though I don't think he's seen Gears of War or any of the recent PC games. .. I agree with the rest, and I do believe that the PS3 is a good system, But this article hasn't really made the PS3 look any better than many of the other articles I've seen.
Led by Zonk, who is being paid to cast the worst possible light on all things Sony at all times, presumably.
As much as Zonk does the anti-sony tirade, I honestly don't think he's getting paid to cast the worst possible light on Sony, it is more like Sony hasn't had anything in the best possible light since the PS2.
I've looked high and low for positive news items about Sony in local news papers, slashdot, other internets, and foreign news papers, (sure it may have been to refute them once found) but the point is that there is nothing that shows Sony in a positive light in regards to the PS3.

for a self-importance not unlike my own there's no room for feces :)

have you never played Baldur's Gate 2 or the Fallout series? Or maybe even Planescape: Torment?

I dunno, I just want them to be good at what they do. . . I mean, if you're getting paid to lie shouldn't you be good at lying?

Call me a fanboy but I don't think Sony's in the position to buy it. . . though I would like to personally tell them to sit on it. . .
but 90% of those online sales are just people buying the flipped consoles on ebay!
So now we're going to have to expect an hour and a half of battery life instead of the now standard three and a half hour. . .
I don't know about anyone else, but I think i'd risk MORE explosive batteries if I could get like 9 hours of juice on my notebook.

I think you mistook PS/2 for PS2.

lol maybe she thought her husband just changed the flooring in their TV room to black and green plastic. . .
I own a couple xboxes so I'm allowed to make the joke.
would you like a high five before you get back on that little yellow school bus?
but how would the wrist straps break and ruin my TV if I was meant to fire it across the room?
