    If vinyl is soo bad then why are vinyl gloves given out to food service personel who handle food all day? If that is really a bad thing I am going to have to stop eating most of the food I consume.

    but tabs are poorly implemented and the whole mozilla render engine sucks, BAD, its SLOOOOOOWW and doesn't cache pages very well, the tabs are also slow, it frustrates me everytime I use it and it take 3 days to load so I end up staring at the splash screen for an eternity so that after the window finnally renders then I wait another 2 eons for the page to load and then if I want to open a new tab I have to ctrl-click or go use a fscking menu, this is also slow and make me want a keyboard shortcut, also a ctrl-click will load the page in both windows sometime and there is no way to open a tab in the background, in my not very humble opinion, mozilla is a terrible implementation of a web browser and its bretheren are not any better either.

    is that for some reason I am ok with paying money to watch commercials, I mean aside from HBO and their ilk, I watch more commercials on channels that I have to pay for than I do for local channels, how I justify this, I don't know

    If this article was called "Why you shold switch to OS X" I could see you point... but it's not, it's called "Top Ten Mac OS X Tips for Unix Geeks: implying that you have already switch and just wanted some comfort because they felt a little wierd without the omnipresent command line of linux and unix, next time pay attention.

    BTW if you don't want eye candy, don't buy a mac, there is a saying out there, "the right tool for the right job" if you wanna stick with your command line and don't like looking at anything beside white text on a black background, then you better stick with what you know.

    If you are on a budget of less then a couple million dollars then you can forget about citrix, unless meta frame has made some serious improvements in the past 6 months, let me tell you why.

    first of all the recomended amount of memory per user is something like 16- 32 MB of ram per user ON THE SERVER, that means that if you want to support 500 users and if you only used to 16mb of memory per user then just to support the users you would need 8 GIGs of ram not to mention the 128 to GIG or ram for just running the OS, not to mention the price of the server that supports that much ram and the price of having between 4 and 8 Zeon procs and then the arrays you would need to store all of the information on that system, something like VNC or some other solution would be more evective, its hard to say what though, thats just my 2 cents

    So correct me if I am wrong here but, if a copywrite gives a copywrite holder exclusive rights to their work then why does anyone even need 20 seconds much less 20 yeas of copyright after they are dead? are they collecting royalties in the after life? Do you need protection from copying when you are dead?



    the answer is no, if your dead then you also are not doing any business and have no need to make money, the only thing that you need to do after death is to decompose so the flowers can grow thats it, anyway IANAL and i am not sure if rights transfer but it just doesn't make sense to me.

    there is no line to draw. do you see the quotation marks at the begining and the end of the statement? this means that what you see is exactly what was written by the submitter therefore there should be no editing done, if the submission was paraphrased then corrections could be made, I don't see what the big deal is, you are literate, you can figure it out, its really not that hard

    Actually if they are going to be stupid about it, the actual code cannot proccess information at all , it simply IS information , the computer can proccess information so I think that you could argue that the software is not a device under these conditions, but of course IANAL

    Yea!! This is an Excellent excuse to build a rack and buy some rack mount chassis all of the boards in those machines are gennerally horizontal and then you have and e4xcuse to buy the hot swap bay and a bunch of 80 pin SCA hard drives, if you are concened this sounds like a good time to blow your yearly salary getting new toys ;)

    actually this is known as a lease and people do do that kind of thing with cars and at one point that was the only way to get an IBM mainfraim, they did not off the customer the ability to purchase a server they had to lease it until the US gov started looking into a antitrust case.

    I would, you send me the application and I will make sure that the @home network and all its users are aware that there machines are infected, plus I could use it on the internal network, I am sure that the admins here would be more than happy to shutdown the machien that are infected, that would make the people who don't read their E-mail easier to find

    I believe that was the original posters point, that we should never react on our emotions, especially something with this many concequences and that is why they mentioned calming down, the the poster only reffered to a thought, and that thought makes him as much a nuke dropping american pig as thinking about robbing a bank makes me a bank robber, its only a thought no action.

    I agree totally, the only way to rally tell these terorist to go fuck them selves is to act in a rational and sane manner, or in other words , in the opposite way that they act, I think that treating "them" civilly and with respect even though they have shown none, makes then look bad , in everyones eyes, and doesn't allow them to be martyrs, this seems better to me , I don't mind life inprisonment that is a worse punishment for people like this than death and it makes them an example without angering as many people, of course I am sure that there are alot of people who will totally disagree with me and that is there right too, thats just what i think

    well if you depressurised a plane at 20 thousand or more feet then everyon one on board would pass out without oxgen , i know pilots have ther own takes so it could actually subdues the terrorist lon enough to incapacitate them

    wow , I have hear alot of shit in the world but this is really interesting, if you think about what you just said then you just proved yourself not axactly wrong because temperature does affect the speed of sound but for the same reason that air density or the density of whatever is transmitting the sound affect the spead of sound, take water for instance, iif I remember correctly water transmits sound at an amazinf rate or steal like in the horizontal bar of a chain link fence if you stand at one end and place your ear on the bar and have someone knock on the bar at the other end , you will hear the knowck in the bar before you hear it in the air, this is due to density, which, in air is affected by temperature so you are correct saying that temperature affects the speed of sounds but wrong to state that it is the only variable that affects the properties of sound, of course I am just a high school graduate so I am sure I will be proven completely wrong on this but thats what I remmeber
