My old boss, a computer "Guru" by his own statements ran a small computer shop where he did custom assemblies with pirated software and "new" refurbished oem hardware

One day he decided that he was going to build a Athlon 1.4ghz computer with a 135? (probably wasn't much bigger) power supply.

At the time I was working for him as a Cable modem installer because I wanted nothing to do with his customer service reputation, but I strictly told him that a 135 watt PS would NOT supply enough power for that pc.

In the end, every component on the PC had to be replaced due to his actions, he learned his lessons of the importance of power supplies and I won a $20 bet with his assistant

The moral? Never trust a bad power supply (or a idiot boss)

And what about my SO's PC woes? Well, after her Vaio was so violently debilitated, and after being told by various experts that it would require nothing short of a complete (and very expensive) Windows system debugging and OS reinstall

    I say:

Reinstalling windows takes 60 minutes and from windows 98-present (highest home user edition is XP Media Center Edition) will prompt you and give good tips on the whole reinstallation process.

Furthermore, this system was a sony Vaio, and sony has very good reinstallation and imaging disks. So good in a fact, that if you had made a short free call to the manufacturer they would have told you to insert the disk and to follow the on-screen prompts.

Telka: Sexuality in ads will exist as long as you have uncreative minds clamoring away on the idea that their audience is entirely male

Well, while the majority of the market is male, I know a _lot_ of female gamers that have no issue with the gameplay and advertisement. People say GTA:SA is bad, yet my ex and my current girlfriend that both come over to my house to game on a nightly basis. And they think killing the hookers is a great idea.

Staci: The women in the industry are doing their best to expand the minds of the men in the industry and its having an impact.

I highly doubt no matter what the makeup of the tech team is that PR, advertising and R&D are all dominated by men. I'm sure there are plenty of very smart women out there that know what sells that are making these calls.

Trisha: Still, I don't think that you would have seen any woman playing video games 5 years ago.

Rubbish, 5 years ago me and my ex gamed every night. As did the many girls that came into the video store that I worked in part time in those days

Sarah: Ugh! my first thought is, "they're naked!!" My second is, "what does that even mean? I got implants? You can play me?"

Have you ever seen a trimspa commercial? This particular ad is obviously making fun of anna nicole smith. And she wasn't naked. And implants are part of the game.
