The man whose job it is to monitor the plasma (using 4 mechanical arms powered by an AI) could be struck by a solar flare when the machine goes out of control?
Yes, but they are both first world countries with very thorough labour laws. It might be cheaper to make stuff there, but I bet there's not too many corners being cut*
*you don't want corners cut with Lego involved - it makes the models look stupid
Eh, sort of. It's not so bad these days. Macs can do it using MacFUSE (google it yourself, lazy) and not certain on all linux support but it seems to work fine on my Ubuntu box.
Sure, Sol might be a pretty quiet Sun...

.. but the Sparc 1 in my basement is damn silent, I tell you.
When you use "they" rather than "we" and make En-UK language mistakes that even my german GF wouldn't make, I can only assume you're not from round these parts.
The U in "favourite" nearly tipped me, but I used the logic that if you were yank you probably had fat fingers and couldn't type very well.
Does anyone else find it quaint when yanks try to comment on the English language?
They always manage something that is nearly completely wrong, but right enough to see where they were going before they were distracted by something to eat or a TV.
Or it might be because the cost of the iPhone is heavily subsidised by the contract you agree to sign before you open the box. (which is clearly marked and you are allowed to return it for a full refund if you don't agree)
You know, might be. Of course they could be just after your succulent nutritious personal data, lifeblood of "Evil Coporations (tm)"
PayPal can be bad for buyers though. Bought a monitor for £300 (apple cinema display) and paid instantly via PP. Then he refused to ship it saying my address wasn't confirmed. So iI confirmed it. He still said it was dodgy and refused to send the item.
Paypal still have the money. Between us we could find no way to sort it out.
...you can't trick me into buying Dell's shit. 55% off? They could be giving it away and i still wouldn't bite.

Could someone give me a condensed overview please? I'm a little foggy on the concept, and that would really clear things up for me.
I've done it on a pile of PowerMacs, so I've sort of done it on OS X.
Not quite Firefox though...
Or indeed, very sturdy skiers.

Let's all play the Slashdot "How much of this is true" game!
My turn: I guess... 10 percent. Parent owns a car, possibly a dark blue one.
Who's next?
It's a MacBook Pro but I was about to post the same thing. Terrible, terrible use of the Smudge tool :/

And fans of Radiohead.
Err, doesn't that cut out about 80% of processors in the last 10 years? Macs and Suns excluded, of course.
In the future there is only war.
We're at an impasse here, maybe we should compromise.
Only if she's really attractive.
I don't get a similar effect from the repulsive girls.
That's not a bad idea, though a lot of people seem unable to deal with a side-dock (including me, now. Somehow the switch to Leopard made me hate it)
You realise you can have the dock on the side, right?
