I'm still waiting for something exciting to be released. Updates to Google Desktop isn't all that exciting. The last Google release I found interesting was the Google Maps that allowed use of API for personal development.
You know as well as I do that it's just a plot to scare people from downloading movies and music on the internet. Typically, the worst thing that would come of this would be downloading a masked file that is in fact a virus. On the other hand, things like size of the file, name, release group, etc, can all be easily identified. My understanding is that the actual download medium is the worst application to receive any type of virus of malicious code.
Man, what a shame. I've been a fan of SGI for quite sometime and it's unfortunate to see something like this happen. Hopefully they can climb back out.
I'll agree with you 100% on this. Even though people may download a movie, due to quality and lack of features, they may eventually go out and purchase the full length version. Do they take that into consideration?
The only real valid point that I like in that story is that Microsoft is going after Google in some markets that they should potentially stay out of. From another view, why not jump into a profitable area?
As well they should. Contributing to open source is very beneficial and would only draw a longer income merchant which for a bank is the bread and butter of business.
Wow. That's an interesting view on a company receiving that much in funding. I could be worried too. Who can justify that many patents? Is the IP protocol really worth that many patents?
You can think in this strategy for a number of companies. I'm sure that Microsoft has taken this into consideration. I'm sure they have their reasons and no one can project their future business decisions.
Wow. Getting fired for surfing would be retarded. People that can multitask and look at say, CNN, while on the phone is not something that should be case for termination.
You know, as much as I'm for protecting certain things that shouldn't be viewed by children, etc, I'm really getting tired of the regulation in the US. Everything is being regulated. People need to learn and be exposed to certain content that will allow them to grow. Nudity is a part of life. Sex is part of life.
It is Pre-911 thinking. But let me say that the way things are moving, we're not going to have the same freedoms that we had Pre-911.

Sniff out DVD's? What on a DVD makes it leave a trail of smell that a dog can detect?
I'm going to open an IPO for my company. Anyone interested? :)

Damn, and I just got the 15" version. Would be nice to have one that's a little more portable. Definitely happy with the performance though.

Surprisingly, that's not as many big busts as I thought their would be.
Companies are targeting RIM because they're based out of Canada. It's a conspiracy I tell you.
Hah. If I had mod-points, I'd give them all to you for that comment.
What a successful resume... How the heck did he get hired at Microsoft? He was just a bad omen waiting to happen.
Higher education could have a good say in this should they make a push to all agree that this is not a good thing.
Yippy... Now we need some practical applications... Anyone, anyone?
Okay... That name does NOT excite me when I'm about to purchase a new gaming console. What kind of brainstorming was that?

I want electronic legs just because I'm lazy!
Nothing wrong with this Bill. There is enough violence on CNN anyway for kids to be exposed to.

Sounds like the .COM crash. Problem is we're lazy but at the same time, no one wants to sit and code for 8 hours a day.

Experience? Hah.
