If the teleporter is a wormhole of some kind, imagine what impact it will make on networking in general. Communication between continents would be both faster and cheaper, and resources like water would easily be transported anywhere where it's needed cheaply.
Unless the wormhole requires a insane amount of energy to operate.
Sometimes the deathcam shows a rather hilarious moment, so urging the player to take a screenshot isn't a bad idea. Besides F5 takes a screenshot at any time, though it's only on the deathcam where it have noticeable flash and sound effect.
Configure the screen in Ubuntu Linux is rather straightforward (but this might been a somewhat recent addition... I don't recall seeing it in earlier versions myself, but I might been blind).
System>Adminstration>Screen and graphics Pretty straightforward and no need to mess with xorg.conf.
Don't confuse it with System>Preferences>Screen resolution... which is honestly somewhat redundant with the screen options being elsewhere.:/
That would only fix problems temporarily, but might cause worse one later since blowing into the cartridges corrodes the contacts a bit due to the moisture from your breath.
Never had problems with SNES carts either way. Only the NES been the problematic of the older consoles.
Hell, it's more similar to SimIsle than Simcity actually. Lincity was too much of a "everything is a consumable resource" game, which was rather silly...
I would say that Simcity 4 is the most advanced simulator I played so far, that is also playable as a game.
Though in terms of open source simulation games, nothing beats openTTD.:) Simcity, might be a good competitor though.
Remember that commercial and residental zones lots need to be next to a road. You can hold down shift to disable auto-street functionality, but keep in mind that the zone arrows in each "zone rectangle" need to be pointing against the street as you build them. (version 1.0 have no arrows in Simcity4, so if you don't see any... update)
And from the sounds of it, you hadn't gotten really far in Simcity4. The traffic simulation in it is rather advanced compared to older simcities, and can even get quite complicated at times. The rush hour expansion pack (aka Simcity4 deluxe) makes life easier with it's traffic query tool... which should honestly been in the vanilla version.
Seriously, I am the only one who thinks the games just have gotten better in general? Sure there's lots of recycled crap, but... it's always honestly been that way... infact I actually wonder if it was more common at the time of Atari. It's said that bad games was a factor for the video game crash in the early 80's...
The games Atari made is way overly simplistic for someone who grew up the NES I have to admit. Then, I was never a fan of seemingly endless games...
NoScript does. It basically blocks javascript and flash for any pages you hadn't whitelisted. Since most security problems are related to javascript, it does make browsing more safe... and less annoying.:)
I wouldn't mind seeing something similar for software now too... as long it's open source.
You have to remember that the faster emulators tend to be either inaccurate, such as the old infamous nesticle emulator. or use lots of low-level tricks such as ZSNES (which kinda also locks them into one platform). Some emulators where close to perfect accuracy is the goal is also some of the slowest, at least in the NES emulation scene.
Well, it can be a fetishism... like how computer programmers and Star Trek fandom can be.;)
Nevertheless, I was rather impressed by the variety of Second life at first. Then I realized it pretty much boiled down to who have the money to buy land, and you tend to see ads everywhere and there's no concept of zoning. D:
As far I know, Java uses 32 bit values internally as a minimum, so even if they got around adding a unsigned byte, it would technically be a 32 bit value in disguise. But I got to admit, the lack of unsigned byte is a huge annoyance when you program in java.:/
Actually, in a aspect Second life isn't more or less dangerous than your average IRC network or any internet-based media.
There's probably IRC networks out there allowing those things. I don't think it would help if Linden labs started to crackdown on such stuff, considering most of people practising those "games" usually don't take it seriously, and even if the torture women in their online-fantasies they can be raging feminists real-life. (Though I'm well-aware there's dangerous cults out there that brainwashes people.) I don't want to see crackdowns on what people do online...:/
Of course, I don't support pedophiles. I do understand that some people like to roleplay as children and being molested that way, which I find quite weird.
But if only grownups are involved, why should I care?
I dare to say that the franchise have gotten better. The sims 2 is just so much richer gameplay wise than the original, and the new expansion packs adds much more to the original game than the original series of expansion packs did. Game sites seems to give Sims 2 expansion packs a better rating as well.
People have a unexplainable hate for The sims for either being too "mainstream" or "there's no point", but you have to remember the game seems to caterer to people who likes creation and not so much for a mission based structure (whenever they introduce mission based elements in a The sims based spinoff, it just feels lame).
Heh with noscript I saw no reason to use the other tools. It tends to block the ads I find annoying, while I let ads like google ads through. (since they're never intrusive)
You get JS ? when you don't have javascript turned on. That's what I first got too until I "javascript whitelisted" the Acid3 test. :)

*shrug*

Actually in that case you're just logged out on that other computer.
Had this happen once when I was out of boredom screwing around with Valve games on a (fairly dumb) lecture. It logged me out at home.

Lincity is a clone of Simcity?
:) Simcity, might be a good competitor though.

That's a little bit bigger than the population of Sweden (see Wikipedia). I found this fact rather amusing.

Micromanagment in SC4 became automatic?
Are you sure we played the same simcity? Simcity 4 is easily the most micromanagement-heavy Simcity ever.

This so reminds me about the old support joke about a user trying to send a document, by holding it up in front of the screen. :)
It's over three years now actually. Three and a half even.
Linus, not Linux.
Otherwise yes, they do.

I think the death imp sounds in doom is the sound of a camel slightly modified.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was at least.

I dunno, some type of cons have grown thanks to the internet.
I swear that both anime-cons and furcons have gotten bigger for example...

A stupid marketing term.
Anyone knows where this term comes from?

Intresting... it's kind of sad though, the only time I saw clackers was through a virtual version on Wario ware:Touched.
