Then, alot of people wouldn't find Simcity as fun if the player didn't have the freedom to do whatever he wish (and can afford)
Sure, it's a bit unrealistic to be able to demolish a newly built skyscraper, but the game would turn very frustating if you was unable to do such things.
Transport Tycoon did have something like that. The towns is independant in that game, and have a rating of your company. If it's too low, they don't allow you to demolish things. And it goes down by terraforming and demolishing of course. While that prevented people from destroying a whole town with the demolision tool, it was kind of very frustating too.
I'm a major simulation fan, and probably tried the most of the somewhat intresting simulation games out there (and some of the really crap ones). My favorite simulator from Maxis so far happens to be Simcity 4 with Rush hour, which is probably the best expansion pack Maxis ever made (but then, alot of the stuff in it should have been included from the start honestly). Another favorite of mine is SimIsle, which should have called SimIndustry.
And about being non-violent, Maxis kinda failed with that in Simcity 4 ironically, where it's cheaper to let a disaster roam over the area you want to demolish. Imagine if the goverment did that IRL. Then, Simcity have blamed for being too socialistic in nature, which hadn't bothered me too much though.
I did learn alot about city design with the simcity games, but I also always took the games with some grain of salt.
There actually was a modem for NES in US, but it never took off. Can be said that it was unlicensed too (while the famicom one was offical). Google for "Teleplay".
That would mean that each Nintendo console actually get's cheaper launch price at each generation?;)
Well, then... Nintendo wanted FAMICOM to be affordable in Japan and apparently that led to their major success and repeated it in USA and Europa with NES (which is technically the same thing as Famicom).
Intresting to see that Nintendo tried to pull off Famicom as a computer too (There was some keyboard for famicom apparently), but never bothered to do that in US. Apparently the keyboard was used for Famicom BASIC. A shame that never were released in the west, maybe I would have gotten into programming earlier.
Actually, the US dollar had some rough inflation. Compared to currencies such as SEK. It did rise when Bush came to power, but I heard all of diffrent reasons why.:P
So you would pretty much have to assume that when the subscription numbers for WoE dwindlers down, then they would start on WoS.
I dunno how well RPG elements would work in the Starcraft universe though, as Warcraft seems to be more hero-based (hadn't played it, so don't sue me). It probably will work, but I would imagine it having alot of FPS moments.
That's said, I like Starcraft more than Warcraft. Becuse I prefer Science fiction over fantasy. I been thinking on trying WoW one of thoose days though, but I never got around it due to lack of time...
Being one of thoose furries, I can say that ehh.... some of the charcther models might want me to stay around as human at first. The models dosen't look realistic at all (It makes me think on first generation N64 graphics, just smoother).
Meh, I check it out. At least it's one of the few "MMO" (yes i'm aware it's not really a MMO, more like a 3D online chat thingy) that don't require you to make a "private server" just to have custom scripting possible. Though it makes me wonder if the freedom been too much for a few people and have created malicous items...
The GM command thing made me think, wouldn't it undermine the goldfarming market if the game devolopers also offered real money? Then still, most people don't want their favorite MMORPG to turn into a "Who can spend the most?" game.
Still, i rather see people goldfarming than other "illegal" activities. Apart from causing inflation in ingame (which happens on most MMORPG's apparently) a bit they don't really cause a real matrial harm.
I'm surprised that there are no PDA software yet. It's probably only a matter of time... then it might not be attractive for the market. But you could only hope.:)
What about expansions pack? So far games who get popular and have "longevity" tends to get a expansion pack or two.
And you don't have to be Einstein to figure out that a expansion pack is cheaper to make than a game started from the scratch. Maxis have realized this with their The sims series... who have loads of dedicted fans.
Wii had DVD features in first place? I never saw anything like that planned.
So according to your theory, PSP would have been whopping DS right now. Which is not true. :)

This is the earliest article I find by manually inputting ID's, but I didn't find the earliest post. Some low ID users there though...
Didn't Sony say that the PS2 would replace the PC? Which was far from truth too...
Typical Sony, trying to overhype. It makes you wonder who falls for this...

Pokémon died? True, it might not be as popular as before, but I hardly call it's fandom and popularity dead. :/
Unless your defination of die is "getting less popular after being very popular" which is... kind of true for most things out there.
So anyone have any idea which Intel Pentiums processors that are affected by this? Every Intel processor with overheat protection?
Wouldn't surprise me if Revolution would be used as game title.
;)
I mean, how many SNES games have super in it's title and how many N64 games have the suffix 64?
Wouldn't it be firmware then? I'm not a expert on hardware related stuff, so sorry if i'm way wrong now. :)
Well, it's the English name for Småland if I recall...
What else do you expect from a man who lived in Smalandia? :)

Thing is that a article can turn from really crap to really good as soon as a few editors gone through the article. :)
That's the beuty of Wikipedia! And that's why a rating system wouldn't really work....
But there is a way to mark articles who needs a "cleanup" of their language, or is just... too short.
Westwood kind of rebirthed, or at least... most of it's staff "moved on"... A shame that they probably never will get the license for the C&C franchise, considering that the company apparently mainly consist of old westwood staff.
I'm surprised that there are no PDA software yet. It's probably only a matter of time... then it might not be attractive for the market. But you could only hope. :)
256MB should be enough for anyone.
Tsk, everyone knows that number one reason is "Rise of the lawyers".
Better grab yer shotgun guys!

Funny, when I tried it in Firefox it didn't work... yet other sites I use works with WMC.
And when I tried it in IE, the plugin itself loaded but it was like the content didn't get downloaded... Why not supply a simple download link?
Internet killed the videostar. Old, but somehow fitting...
